നിഖിലാഗമതത്ത്വജ്ഞ ബ്രഹ്മജ്ഞാനപരായണ ।
വദാസ്മാകം മൃത്യുപായം സൂത സര്വോപകാരകമ് ॥ ൧ ॥
O knower of the essence of all scriptures, O one devoted to the knowledge of Brahman, O Suta, tell us of a means to overcome death that is beneficial to all.
സര്വദേവേഷു കോ ദേവഃ സദ്യോ മോക്ഷപ്രദോ ഭവേത് ।
കോ മനുര്വാ ഭവേത്തസ്യ സദ്യഃ പ്രീതികരോ ധ്രുവമ് ॥ ൨ ॥
Among all the gods, who is the god that bestows immediate liberation? And what is the mantra that surely brings him immediate pleasure?
സൂത ഉവാച-
നിഗമാഗമതത്ത്വജ്ഞോ ഹ്യവധൂതശ്ചിദമ്ബരഃ ।
ഭക്തവാത്സല്യപ്രവണോ ദത്ത ഏവ ഹി കേവലഃ ॥ ൩ ॥
Suta said:
He is the knower of the essence of the Vedas and Agamas, the Avadhuta, the one whose form is pure consciousness, inclined towards affection for His devotees, and He alone is Dattatreya.
സദാ പ്രസന്നവദനോ ഭക്തചിന്തൈകതത്പരഃ ।
തസ്യ നാമാന്യനന്താനി വര്തന്തേഽഥാപ്യദഃ പരമ് ॥ ൪ ॥
Always having a joyful countenance, He is solely intent on the thoughts of His devotees; although His names are infinite, these are the supreme ones.
ദത്തസ്യ നാമസാഹസ്രം തസ്യ പ്രീതിവിവര്ധനമ് ।
യസ്ത്വിദം പഠതേ നിത്യം ദത്താത്രേയൈകമോനസഃ ॥ ൫ ॥
This thousand-name hymn of Dattatreya increases His pleasure; whoever reads this daily with a mind focused solely on Dattatreya [attains his desires].
മുച്യതേ സര്വപാപേഭ്യഃ സ സദ്യോ നാത്ര സംശയഃ ।
അന്തേ തദ്ധാമ സംയാതി പുനരാവൃത്തിദുര്ലഭമ് ॥ ൬ ॥
He is immediately liberated from all sins, there is no doubt about this; at the end, he attains that supreme abode from which there is no return.
അസ്യ ശ്രീമദ്ദത്താത്രേയസഹസ്രനാമസ്തോത്രമന്ത്രസ്യ അവധൂത ഋഷിഃ ।

Of this Shri Dattatreya Sahasranama Stotra mantra, Avadhuta is the Rishi. Anushtup is the meter. Digambara is the presiding deity. Om is the seed. Hrim is the power. Kraum is the pin. The recitation is engaged in for the pleasure of Shri Datta.
അഥ ധ്യാനമ് -
ദിഗമ്ബരം ഭസ്മവിലേപിതാങ്ഗം ബോധാത്മകം മുക്തികരം പ്രസന്നമ് ।
നിര്മാംസം ശ്യാമതനും ഭജേഽഹം ദത്താത്രേയം ബ്രഹ്മസമാധിയുക്തമ് ॥
I worship Dattatreya, who is sky-clad, whose body is smeared with sacred ash, who is the embodiment of pure consciousness, the bestower of liberation, and ever-gracious; who is lean, dark-complexioned, and absorbed in the state of Brahman-realization.
അഥ സഹസ്രനാമസ്തോത്രമ് ।
ദത്താത്രേയോ മഹായോഗീ യോഗേശശ്ചാമരപ്രഭുമ് ।
മുനിര്ദിഗമ്ബരോ ബാലോ മായാമുക്തോ മദാപഹഃ ॥ ൧ ॥
Now begins the Thousand Name Hymn.
Dattatreya is the great Yogi, the Lord of Yoga, and the immortal Master. He is the sage, the sky-clad one, the child-like one, the one liberated from illusion, and the destroyer of arrogance.
അവധൂതോ മഹാനാഥഃ ശങ്കരോഽമരവല്ലഭഃ ।
മഹാദേവശ്ചാദിദേവഃ പുരാണപ്രഭുരീശ്വരഃ ॥ ൨ ॥
The Avadhuta, the Great Lord, Shankara, the beloved of the immortals, the Great God, the Primal God, the Ancient Lord, and the Supreme Ruler.
സത്ത്വകൃത്സത്ത്വഭൃദ്ഭാവഃ സത്ത്വാത്മാ സത്ത്വസാഗരഃ ।
സത്ത്വവിത്സത്ത്വസാക്ഷീ ച സത്ത്വസാധ്യോഽമരാധിപഃ ॥ ൩ ॥
The creator of goodness, the sustainer of goodness, the essence of goodness, the soul of goodness, the ocean of goodness, the knower of goodness, the witness of goodness, the one attainable through goodness, and the Lord of the immortals.
ഭൂതകൃദ്ഭൂതഭൃച്ചൈവ ഭൂതാത്മാ ഭൂതസമ്ഭവഃ ।
ഭൂതഭാവോ ഭവോ ഭൂതവിത്തഥാ ഭൂതകാരണഃ ॥ ൪ ॥
The Creator of beings, the Supporter of beings, the Soul of beings, the Origin of beings, the Existence of beings, the Becoming of beings, the Knower of beings, and the Cause of beings.
ഭൂതസാക്ഷീ പ്രഭൂതിശ്ച ഭൂതാനാം പരമാ ഗതിഃ ।
ഭൂതസങ്ഗവിഹീനാത്മാ ഭൂതാത്മാ ഭൂതശങ്കരഃ ॥ ൫ ॥
The witness of all beings, the source of all, the supreme refuge of all beings, the one whose soul is devoid of attachment to beings, the soul of all beings, and the benefactor of all beings.
ഭൂതനാഥോ മഹാനാഥശ്ചാദിനാഥോ മഹേശ്വരഃ ।
സര്വഭൂതനിവാസാത്മാ ഭൂതസന്താപനാശനഃ ॥ ൬ ॥
Lord of all beings, the Great Lord, the Primal Lord, the Supreme Lord; He who dwells in all beings as their inner self, and the destroyer of the afflictions of all beings.
സര്വാത്മാ സര്വഭൂതസ്ഥഃ സര്വജ്ഞഃ സര്വനിര്ണയഃ ।
സര്വസാക്ഷീ ബൃഹദ്ഭാനുഃ സര്വവിത്സര്വമങ്ഗലഃ ॥ ൭ ॥
He is the Soul of all, residing in all beings, the all-knowing, the decider of all, the witness of all, the great effulgence, the knower of all, and the embodiment of all auspiciousness.
ശാന്തഃ സത്യഃ സമഃ പൂര്ണോ ഹ്യേകാകീ കമലാപതിഃ ।
രാമോ രാമപ്രിയശ്ചൈവ വിരാമോ രാമകാരണമ് ॥ ൮ ॥
He is peaceful, truthful, equanimous, complete, and solitary; He is the Lord of Lakshmi, the Rama, the beloved of Rama, the cessation of all, and the cause of Rama.
ശുദ്ധാത്മാ പാവനോഽനന്തഃ പ്രതീതഃ പരമാര്ഥഭൃത് ।
ഹംസസാക്ഷീ വിഭുശ്ചൈവ പ്രഭുഃ പ്രലയ ഇത്യപി ॥ ൯ ॥
He is the Pure Soul, the Purifier, the Infinite, the Manifest, the Supporter of the Supreme Truth, the Witness of the Swan (the individual soul), the All-Pervading, the Lord, and also the Dissolution.
സിദ്ധാത്മാ പരമാത്മാ ച സിദ്ധാനാം പരമാ ഗതിഃ ॥
സിദ്ധിസ്സിദ്ധസ്തഥാ സാധ്യഃ സാധനോ ഹ്യുത്തമസ്തഥാ ॥ ൧൦ ॥
The perfected soul, the Supreme Soul, and the ultimate refuge of the perfected ones; the perfection, the perfected one, the goal to be attained, the means of attainment, and the supreme one.
സുലക്ഷണഃ സുമേധാവീ വിദ്യാവാന്വിഗതാന്തരഃ ।
വിജ്വരശ്ച മഹാബാഹുര്ബഹുലാനന്ദവര്ധനഃ ॥ ൧൧ ॥
He is possessed of excellent marks, highly intelligent, learned, free from all inner conflicts, devoid of distress, mighty-armed, and the enhancer of abundant bliss.
അവ്യക്തപുരുഷഃ പ്രാജ്ഞഃ പരജ്ഞഃ പരമാര്ഥദൃക് ।
പരാപരവിനിര്മുക്തോ യുക്തസ്തത്ത്വപ്രകാശവാന് ॥ ൧൨ ॥
The Unmanifest Person, the Wise One, the Knower of the Supreme, the Seer of the Ultimate Reality; liberated from both the higher and the lower, the United One, the Illuminator of Truth.
ദയാവാന്ഭഗവാന്ഭാവീ ഭാവാത്മാ ഭാവകാരണഃ ।
ഭവസന്താപനാശശ്ച പുണ്യവാന്പണ്ഡിതോ ബുധഃ ॥ ൧൩ ॥
The Compassionate One, the Lord, the Future, the Soul of existence, the Cause of existence, the Destroyer of the suffering of worldly existence, the Virtuous, the Wise, and the Enlightened.
പ്രത്യക്ഷവസ്തുര്വിശ്വാത്മാ പ്രത്യഗ്ബ്രഹ്മ സനാതനഃ ।
പ്രമാണവിഗതശ്ചൈവ പ്രത്യാഹാരനിയോജകഃ ॥ ൧൪ ॥
He who is the manifest reality, the soul of the universe, the inner Brahman, and the eternal one; He who is beyond the reach of proofs, and the one who engages in the withdrawal of the senses.
പ്രണവഃ പ്രണവാതീതഃ പ്രമുഖഃ പ്രലയാത്മകഃ ।
മൃത്യുഞ്ജയോ വിവിക്താത്മാ ശങ്കരാത്മാ പരോ വപുഃ ॥ ൧൫ ॥
He is the Pranava (Om), He who transcends the Pranava, the foremost, the essence of dissolution, the conqueror of death, the one whose nature is solitary and pure, the soul of Shankara, and the supreme embodiment.
പരമസ്തനുവിജ്ഞേയഃ പരമാത്മനി സംസ്ഥിതഃ ।
പ്രബോധകലനാധാരഃ പ്രഭാവപ്രവരോത്തമഃ ॥ ൧൬ ॥
He is the Supreme One, to be known within the body, established in the Supreme Self, the foundation of the manifestation of consciousness, and the most excellent of all influences.
ചിദമ്ബരശ്ചിദ്വിലാസശ്ചിദാകാശശ്ചിദുത്തമഃ ।
ചിത്തചൈതന്യചിത്താത്മാ ദേവാനാം പരമാ ഗതിഃ ॥ ൧൭ ॥
He is the embodiment of pure consciousness, the play of consciousness, the space of consciousness, and the supreme consciousness. He is the consciousness of the mind, the soul of the mind, and the ultimate refuge of the gods.
അചേത്യശ്ചേതനാധാരശ്ചേതനാചിത്തവിക്രമഃ ।
ചിത്താത്മാ ചേതനാരൂപോ ലസത്പങ്കജലോചനഃ ॥ ൧൮ ॥
He is beyond thought, the support of all consciousness, the prowess of the conscious mind, the soul of the mind, the embodiment of consciousness, and the one with lotus-like eyes.
പരബ്രഹ്മ പരം ജ്യോതിഃ പരം ധാമ പരന്തപഃ ।
പരം സൂത്രം പരം തന്ത്രം പവിത്രം പരമോഹവാന് ॥ ൧൯ ॥
The Supreme Brahman, the Supreme Light, the Supreme Abode, the Scorcher of foes, the Supreme Thread, the Supreme Tantra, the Purest, and the possessor of supreme delusion.
ക്ഷേത്രജ്ഞഃ ക്ഷേത്രഗഃ ക്ഷേത്രഃ ക്ഷേത്രാധാരഃ പുരഞ്ജനഃ ।
ക്ഷേത്രശൂന്യോ ലോകസാക്ഷീ ക്ഷേത്രവാന്ബഹുനായകഃ ॥ ൨൦ ॥
The Knower of the field, the One who dwells in the field, the field itself, the support of the field, the dweller in the city of the body; the One devoid of the field, the witness of the worlds, the possessor of the field, and the Lord of many.
യോഗേന്ദോ യോഗപൂജ്യശ്ച യോഗ ആത്മവിദാം ശുചിഃ ।
യോഗമായാധരഃ സ്ഥാണുരചലഃ കമലാപതിഃ ॥ ൨൧ ॥
The Lord of Yoga, the One worshipped by yogis, the Yoga of those who know the Self, the Pure One, the wielder of Yogamaya, the Eternal, the Immovable, and the Lord of Lakshmi.
യോഗേശോ യോഗനിര്മാതാ യോഗജ്ഞാനപ്രകാശനഃ ।
യോഗപാലോ ലോകപാലഃ സംസാരതമനാശനഃ ॥ ൨൨ ॥
The Lord of Yoga, the creator of Yoga, the illuminator of the knowledge of Yoga, the protector of Yoga, the protector of the worlds, and the destroyer of the darkness of worldly existence.
ഗുഹ്യോ ഗുഹ്യതമോ ഗുപ്തോ മുക്തോ യുക്തഃ സനാതനഃ ।
ഗഹനോ ഗഗനാകാരോ ഗമ്ഭീരോ ഗണനായകഃ ॥ ൨൩ ॥
The secret, the most secret, the hidden, the liberated, the united, the eternal, the unfathomable, the sky-formed, the profound, and the leader of the hosts.
ഗോവിന്ദോ ഗോപതിര്ഗോപ്താ ഗോഭാഗോ ഭാവസംസ്ഥിതഃ ।
ഗോസാക്ഷീ ഗോതമാരിശ്ച ഗാന്ധാരോ ഗഗനാകൃതിഃ ॥ ൨൪ ॥
Govinda, the Lord of the senses (or cows), the Protector, the one who shares in the cows, established in existence, the Witness of the senses, the enemy of Gotama, the Gandhara, and the one whose form is the sky.
യോഗയുക്തോ ഭോഗയുക്തഃ ശങ്കാമുക്തസമാധിമാന് ।
സഹജഃ സകലേശാനഃ കാര്തവീര്യവരപ്രദഃ ॥ ൨൫ ॥
Absorbed in Yoga, enjoying worldly pleasures, free from doubt, and established in Samadhi; naturally existing, the Lord of all, and the bestower of boons upon Kartavirya.
സരജാ വിരജാഃ പുംസോ പാവനഃ പാപനാശനഃ ।
പുമാന് പരാവരവിനിര്മുക്തഃ പരഞ്ജ്യോതിഃ പുരാതനഃ ॥ ൨൬ ॥
He is free from passion and free from impurity, the purifier of men, and the destroyer of sins. He is the Supreme Being, liberated from the cause and effect of the universe, the supreme light, and the ancient one.
നാനാജ്യോതിരേകാത്മാ സ്വയഞ്ജ്യോതിഃ സദാശിവഃ ।
ദിവ്യജ്യോതിര്മയശ്ചൈവ സത്യവിജ്ഞാനഭാസ്കരഃ ॥ ൨൭ ॥
He is the light of many forms, the one Self, the self-luminous, and the eternally auspicious. He is composed of divine light and is the sun of true knowledge.
നിത്യശുദ്ധഃ പരഃ പൂര്ണഃ പ്രകാശഃ പ്രകടോദ്ഭവഃ ।
പ്രമാദവിഗതശ്ചൈവ പരേശഃ പരവിക്രമഃ ॥ ൨൮ ॥
Ever-pure, supreme, perfect, effulgent, manifest in creation, free from negligence, the Lord of the supreme, and of supreme prowess.
യോഗീ യോഗോ യോഗപശ്ച യോഗാഭ്യാസപ്രകാശനഃ ।
യോക്താ മോക്താ വിധാതാ ച ത്രാതാ പാതാ നിരായുധ്യഃ ॥ ൨൯ ॥
The Yogi, the Union, the one who witnesses Yoga, the revealer of the practice of Yoga, the one who unites, the one who liberates, the Creator, the Protector, the Sustainer, and the one who is beyond conflict.
നിത്യമുക്തോ നിത്യയുക്തഃ സത്യഃ സത്യപരാക്രമഃ ।
സത്ത്വശുദ്ധികരഃ സത്ത്വസ്തഥാ സത്ത്വമ്ഭൃതാം ഗതിഃ ॥ ൩൦ ॥
Ever-liberated, ever-united, the Truth, of truthful prowess, the purifier of existence, the essence of existence, and the refuge of those who sustain existence.
ശ്രീധരഃ ശ്രീവപുഃ ശ്രീമാന് ശ്രീനിവാസോഽമരാര്ചിതഃ ।
ശ്രീനിധിഃ ശ്രീപതിഃ ശ്രേഷ്ഠഃ ശ്രേയസ്കശ്ചരമാശ്രയഃ ॥ ൩൧ ॥
He who bears the Goddess of Prosperity (Shri), He whose form is Prosperity, He who is full of Prosperity, He who is the abode of Prosperity, He who is worshipped by the immortals, He who is the treasure of Prosperity, He who is the Lord of Prosperity, He who is the most excellent, He who is the bestower of ultimate good, and He who is the final refuge.
ത്യാഗീ ത്യാഗാര്ഥസമ്പന്നസ്ത്യാഗാത്മാ ത്യാഗവിഗ്രഹഃ ।
ത്യാഗലക്ഷണസിദ്ധാത്മാ ത്യാഗജ്ഞസ്ത്യാഗകാരണഃ ॥ ൩൨ ॥
The renouncer, the one endowed with the purpose of renunciation, the soul of renunciation, the embodiment of renunciation, the one whose soul is perfected by the characteristics of renunciation, the knower of renunciation, and the cause of renunciation.
ഭോഗോ ഭോക്താ തഥാ ഭോഗ്യോ ഭോഗസാധനകാരണഃ ।
ഭോഗീ ഭോഗാര്ഥസമ്പന്നോ ഭോഗജ്ഞാനപ്രകാശനഃ ॥ ൩൩ ॥
The enjoyment, the enjoyer, and the object of enjoyment, the cause of the means of enjoyment, the one who enjoys, the one endowed with the purpose of enjoyment, and the illuminator of the knowledge of enjoyment.
കേവലഃ കേശവഃ കൃഷ്ണഃ കംവാസാഃ കമലാലലയഃ ।
കമലാസനപൂജ്യശ്ച ഹരിര്ജ്ഞാനഖണ്ഡനഃ ॥ ൩൪ ॥
The Absolute, the Lord of Brahma and Shiva, the Dark-complexioned One, the One who dwells in the heart, the One who resides in the lotus, the One worshipped by Brahma, the Remover of sins, and the Destroyer of ignorance.
മഹാത്മാ മഹദാദിശ്ച മഹേശോത്തവന്ദിതഃ ।
മനോബുദ്ധിവിഹീനാത്മാ മാനാത്മാ മാനവാധിപഃ ॥ ൩൫ ॥
The Great Soul, the Beginning of the Great, worshipped by the Supreme Lord, the One whose essence is beyond mind and intellect, the Soul of measure, and the Lord of humanity.
ഭുവനേശോ വിഭൂതിശ്ച ധൃതിര്മേധാ സ്മൃതിര്ദയാ ।
ദുഃഖദാവാനലോ ബുദ്ധഃ പ്രബുദ്ധഃ പരമേശ്വരഃ ॥ ൩൬ ॥
Lord of the worlds, the embodiment of divine glory, steadfastness, intelligence, memory, and compassion; the forest fire that consumes the sorrows of existence, the enlightened one, the awakened one, the Supreme Lord.
കാമഹാ ക്രോധഹാ ചൈവ ദമ്ഭദര്പമദാപഹഃ ।
അജ്ഞാനതിമിരാരിശ്ച ഭവാരിര്ഭുവനേശ്വരഃ ॥ ൩൭ ॥
He is the destroyer of desire, the destroyer of anger, and the remover of hypocrisy, arrogance, and pride. He is the enemy of the darkness of ignorance, the enemy of worldly existence, and the Lord of the worlds.
രൂപകൃദ്രൂപഭൃദ്രൂപീ രൂപാത്മാ രൂപകാരണഃ ।
രൂപജ്ഞോ രൂപസാക്ഷീ ച നാമരൂപോ ഗുണാന്തകഃ ॥ ൩൮ ॥
He who creates forms, who bears forms, who is of the nature of form, whose soul is form, and who is the cause of forms. He who is the knower of forms, the witness of forms, the one whose name is form, and the destroyer of qualities.
അപ്രമേയഃ പ്രമേയശ്ച പ്രമാണം പ്രണവാശ്രയഃ ।
പ്രമാണരഹിതോഽചിന്ത്യശ്ചേതനാവിഗതോഽജരഃ ॥ ൩൯ ॥
He is immeasurable and measurable, the standard of proof and the refuge of Om. He is beyond all proof, unthinkable, devoid of consciousness, and ageless.
അക്ഷരോഽക്ഷരമുക്തശ്ച വിജ്വരോ ജ്വരനാശനഃ ।
വിശിഷ്ടോ വിത്തശാസ്ത്രീ ച ദൃഷ്ടോ ദൃഷ്ടാന്തവര്ജിതഃ ॥ ൪൦ ॥
He is the Imperishable, the one liberated from the imperishable, the feverless, and the destroyer of fever. He is the distinguished one, the knower of wealth, the one who is seen, and the one who is beyond all examples.
ഗുണേശോ ഗുണകായശ്ച ഗുണാത്മാ ഗുണഭാവനഃ ।
അനന്തഗുണസമ്പന്നോ ഗുണഗര്ഭോ ഗുണാധിപഃ ॥ ൪൧ ॥
The Lord of qualities, the embodiment of qualities, the soul of qualities, the one who manifests qualities, the one endowed with infinite qualities, the one who contains all qualities within, and the supreme ruler of qualities.
ഗണേശോ ഗുണനാഥശ്ച ഗുണാത്മാ ഗണഭാവനഃ ।
ഗണബന്ധുര്വിവേകാത്മാ ഗുണയുക്തഃ പരാക്രമീ ॥ ൪൨ ॥
The Lord of the Ganas, the Master of qualities, the Soul of qualities, the One who manifests the Ganas, the Friend of the Ganas, the Soul of discrimination, the One endowed with qualities, and the Valiant One.
അതര്ക്യഃ ക്രതുരഗ്നിശ്ച കൃതജ്ഞഃ സഫലാശ്രയഃ ।
യജ്ഞശ്ച യജ്ഞഫല്ദോ യജ്ഞ ഇജ്യോഽമരോത്തമഃ ॥ ൪൩ ॥
He is beyond logic, the sacrifice, and the sacred fire; He is the grateful one and the refuge of all fruits of action. He is the sacrifice, the bestower of the fruits of sacrifice, the one to be sacrificed unto, and the supreme among the immortals.
ഹിരണ്യഗര്ഭഃ ശ്രീഗര്ഭഃ ഖഗര്ഭഃ കുണപേശ്വരഃ ।
മായാഗര്ഭോ ലോകഗര്ഭഃ സ്വയമ്ഭൂര്ഭുവനാന്തകഃ ॥ ൪൪ ॥
He is the Golden Womb (Hiranyagarbha), the Womb of Prosperity (Shrigarbha), the Womb of the Sky (Khagarbha), and the Lord of the Dead (Kunapeshvara). He is the Womb of Illusion (Mayagarbha), the Womb of the Worlds (Lokagarbha), the Self-Existent (Svayambhu), and the End of the Worlds (Bhuvanantaka).
നിഷ്പാപോ നിബിഡോ നന്ദീ ബോധീ ബോധസമാശ്രയഃ ।
ബോധാത്മാ ബോധനാത്മാ ച ഭേദവൈതണ്ഡഖണ്ഡനഃ ॥ ൪൫ ॥
Sinless, dense (or absolute), joyful, enlightened, the refuge of knowledge, the embodiment of knowledge, the soul of awakening, and the destroyer of the arguments of duality.
സ്വാഭാവ്യോ ഭാവനിര്മുക്തോ വ്യക്തോഽവ്യക്തസമാശ്രയഃ ।
നിത്യതൃപ്തോ നിരാഭാസോ നിര്വാണഃ ശരണഃ സുഹൃത് ॥ ൪൬ ॥
He who is natural, free from all mental projections, manifest, the refuge of the unmanifest, eternally content, devoid of illusory appearance, the state of liberation, the ultimate shelter, and the true friend.
ഗുഹ്യേശോ ഗുണഗമ്ഭീരോ ഗുണദോഷനിവാരണഃ ।
ഗുണസങ്ഗവിഹീനശ്ച യോഗാരേര്ദര്പനാശനഃ ॥ ൪൭ ॥
The Lord of the secret, profound in qualities, the remover of merits and demerits, devoid of attachment to qualities, and the destroyer of the pride of the enemy of Yoga.
ആനന്ദഃ പരമാനന്ദഃ സ്വാനന്ദസുഖവര്ധനഃ ।
സത്യാനന്ദശ്ചിദാനന്ദഃ സര്വാനന്ദപരായണഃ ॥ ൪൮ ॥
Bliss, Supreme Bliss, the enhancer of the joy of Self-bliss, Truth-bliss, Consciousness-bliss, and the one who is devoted to the bliss of all.
സദ്രൂപഃ സഹജഃ സത്യഃ സ്വാനന്ദഃ സുമനോഹരഃ ।
സര്വഃ സര്വാന്തരശ്ചൈവ പൂര്വാത്പൂര്വതരസ്തഥാ ॥ ൪൯ ॥
He is the embodiment of Truth, the naturally existing one, the Reality, the bliss of the Self, and the most enchanting. He is everything, the indweller of all, and the most ancient of the ancient.
ഖമയഃ ഖപരഃ ഖാദിഃ ഖമ്ബ്രഹ്മ ഖതനുഃ ഖഗഃ ।
ഖവാസാഃ ഖവിഹീനശ്ച ഖനിധിഃ ഖപരാശ്രയഃ ॥ ൫൦ ॥
He is the essence of space, He is beyond space, He is the origin of space, He is the space-Brahman, He is the one whose body is space, He is the traveler of space, He is the dweller of space, He is devoid of space, He is the treasure of space, and He is the refuge of the space-transcendent.
അനന്തശ്ചാദിരൂപശ്ച സൂര്യമണ്ഡലമധ്യഗഃ ।
അമോഘഃ പരമാമോഘഃ പരോക്ഷഃ വരദഃ കവിഃ ॥ ൫൧ ॥
He is the Infinite, the Primordial Form, and He who resides in the center of the solar orb. He is the Infallible, the Supremely Infallible, the Beyond-Perception, the Giver of Boons, and the All-Knowing Seer.
വിശ്വചക്ഷുര്വിശ്വസാക്ഷീ വിശ്വബാഹുര്ധനേശ്വരഃ ।
ധനഞ്ജയോ മഹാതേജാസ്തേജിഷ്ഠസ്തൈജസഃ സുഖീ ॥ ൫൨ ॥
The eye of the universe, the witness of the universe, the arms of the universe, the lord of wealth, the conqueror of wealth, the possessor of great brilliance, the most brilliant, the radiant, and the happy one.
ജ്യോതിര്ജ്യോതിര്മയോ ജേതാ ജ്യോതിഷാം ജ്യോതിരാത്മകഃ ।
ജ്യോതിഷാമപി ജ്യോതിശ്ച ജനകോ ജനമോഹനഃ ॥ ൫൩ ॥
The Light, the embodiment of light, the conqueror, the soul of all lights, the light of lights, the creator, and the enchanter of people.
ജിതേന്ദ്രിയോ ജിതക്രോധോ ജിതാത്മാ ജിതമാനസഃ ।
ജിതസങ്ഗോ ജിതപ്രാണോ ജിതസംസാരവാസനഃ ॥ ൫൪ ॥
He who has conquered his senses, conquered his anger, conquered his self, and conquered his mind; he who has conquered attachment, conquered his vital breaths, and conquered the impressions of the world.
നിര്വാസനോ നിരാലമ്ബോ നിര്യോഗക്ഷേമവര്ജിതഃ ।
നിരീഹോ നിരഹങ്കാരോ നിരാശീര്നിസ്ഉപാധികഃ ॥ ൫൫ ॥
Free from desires, without support, devoid of the concern for acquisition and preservation, free from longing, devoid of ego, without expectations, and free from all limiting adjuncts.
നിത്യബോധോ വിവിക്താത്മാ വിശുദ്ധോത്തമഗൌരവഃ ।
വിദ്യാര്ഥീ പരമാര്ഥീ ച ശ്രദ്ധാര്ഥീ സാധനാത്മകഃ ॥ ൫൬ ॥
He is eternal consciousness, the isolated soul, and of the purest supreme glory. He is the seeker of knowledge, the seeker of the ultimate truth, the seeker of faith, and the one who is established in spiritual practice.
പ്രത്യാഹാരീ നിരാഹാരീ സര്വാഹാരപരായണഃ ।
നിത്യശുദ്ധോ നിരാകാങ്ക്ഷീ പരായണപരായണഃ ॥ ൫൭ ॥
He who withdraws the senses, he who is free from desire for food, he who is the refuge of all that is consumed. He who is eternally pure, he who is free from longing, he who is the ultimate refuge of all refuges.
അണോരണുതരഃ സൂക്ഷ്മഃ സ്ഥൂലഃ സ്ഥൂലതരസ്തഥാ ।
ഏകസ്തഥാഽനേകരൂപോ വിശ്വരൂപഃ സനാതനഃ ॥ ൫൮ ॥
He is subtler than the subtlest, the subtle, the gross, and also grosser than the gross; He is one, yet manifests in many forms, the universal form, the eternal.
നൈകരൂപോ വിരൂപാത്മാ നൈകബോധമയോഽപി ച ।
നൈകനാമമയശ്ചൈവ നൈകവിദ്യാവിവര്ധനഃ ॥ ൫൯ ॥
He is of many forms, He is of diverse nature, He is of manifold wisdom, He is of various names, and He is the enhancer of many kinds of knowledge.
ഏകശ്ചൈകാന്തികശ്ചൈവ നാനാഭാവവിവര്ജിതഃ ।
ഏകാക്ഷരസ്തഥാ ബീജഃ പൂര്ണബിമ്ബഃ സനാതനഃ ॥ ൬൦ ॥
He is the One, the Absolute, devoid of manifold states, the Single Syllable, the Seed, the Full Orb, and the Eternal.
മന്ത്രവീര്യോ മന്ത്രബീജഃ ശാസ്ത്രവീര്യോ ജഗത്പതിഃ ।
നാനാവീര്യധരശ്ചൈവ ശക്രേശഃ പൃഥിവീപതിഃ ॥ ൬൧ ॥
He who is the potency of the mantra, the seed of the mantra, the potency of the scriptures, and the Lord of the universe. He who possesses various potencies, the Lord of Indra, and the Lord of the Earth.
പ്രാണേശഃ പ്രാണദഃ പ്രാണഃ പ്രാണായാമപരായണഃ ।
പ്രാണപഞ്ചകനിര്മുക്തഃ കോശപഞ്ചകവര്ജിതഃ ॥ ൬൨ ॥
The Lord of the vital breath, the giver of life, the vital breath itself, devoted to the regulation of breath; free from the five vital airs, and devoid of the five sheaths.
നിശ്ചലോ നിഷ്കലോഽസങ്ഗോ നിഷ്പ്രപഞ്ചോ നിരാമയഃ ।
നിരാധാരോ നിരാകാരോ നിര്വികാരോ നിരഞ്ജനഃ ॥ ൬൩ ॥
Immovable, indivisible, unattached, beyond the phenomenal world, free from disease, supportless, formless, changeless, and untainted.
നിഷ്പ്രതീതോ നിരാഭാസോ നിരാസക്തോ നിരാകുലഃ ।
നിഷ്ഠാസര്വഗതശ്ചൈവ നിരാരമ്ഭോ നിരാശ്രയഃ ॥ ൬൪ ॥
He is devoid of expectations, devoid of appearance, unattached, and undisturbed. He is established in all-pervading consciousness, devoid of worldly undertakings, and without any support.
നിരന്തരഃ സത്ത്വഗോപ്താ ശാന്തോ ദാന്തോ മഹാമുനിഃ ।
നിഃശബ്ദഃ സുകൃതഃ സ്വസ്ഥഃ സത്യവാദീ സുരേശ്വരഃ ॥ ൬൫ ॥
He is eternal, the protector of the virtuous, peaceful, self-controlled, and the great sage. He is silent, virtuous, established in his own self, truthful, and the Lord of the gods.
ജ്ഞാനദോ ജ്ഞാനവിജ്ഞാനീ ജ്ഞാനാത്മാഽഽനന്ദപൂരിതഃ ।
ജ്ഞാനയജ്ഞവിദാം ദക്ഷോ ജ്ഞാനാഗ്നിര്ജ്വലനോ ബുധഃ ॥ ൬൬ ॥
The bestower of knowledge, the knower of knowledge and realization, the embodiment of knowledge, filled with bliss, the expert among those who know the sacrifice of knowledge, the fire of knowledge, the radiant one, and the wise one.
ദയാവാന്ഭവരോഗാരിശ്ചികിത്സാചരമാഗതിഃ ।
ചന്ദ്രമണ്ഡലമധ്യസ്ഥശ്ചന്ദ്രകോടിസുശീതലഃ ॥ ൬൭ ॥
He who is compassionate, the destroyer of the disease of worldly existence, the ultimate refuge of medical treatment, He who resides in the center of the lunar orb, and is as cool as ten million moons.
യന്ത്രകൃത്പരമോ യന്ത്രീ യന്ത്രാരൂഢപരാജിതഃ ।
യന്ത്രവിദ്യന്ത്രവാസശ്ച യന്ത്രാധാരോ ധരാധരഃ ॥ ൬൮ ॥
The creator of the machine, the supreme controller, the one who is mounted on the machine and remains undefeated, the knower of the machine, the dweller in the machine, the support of the machine, and the bearer of the earth.
തത്ത്വജ്ഞസ്തത്ത്വഭൂതാത്മാ മഹത്തത്ത്വപ്രകാശനഃ ।
തത്ത്വസങ്ജ്ഞാനയോഗജ്ഞഃ സാങ്ഖ്യശാസ്ത്രപ്രവര്തകഃ ॥ ൬൯ ॥
He is the knower of the ultimate truth, the soul of the elements of truth, the revealer of the great principle, the knower of the yoga of the knowledge of truth, and the propounder of the Sankhya philosophy.
അനന്തവിക്രമോ ദേവോ മാധവശ്ച ധനേശ്വരഃ ।
സാധുഃ സാധുവരിഷ്ഠാത്മാ സാവധാനോഽമരോത്തമഃ ॥ ൭൦ ॥
He who possesses infinite prowess, the Divine Lord, the consort of Lakshmi, the Lord of wealth, the virtuous one, the soul of the most excellent among the virtuous, the vigilant one, and the best among the immortals.
നിഃസങ്കല്പോ നിരാധാരോ ദുര്ധരോ ഹ്യാത്മവിത്പതിഃ ।
ആരോഗ്യസുഖദശ്ചൈവ പ്രവരോ വാസവസ്തഥാ ॥ ൭൧ ॥
He who is without desire, who is without support, who is difficult to comprehend, the Lord who knows the Self, the bestower of health and happiness, the supreme one, and the Lord of the Vasus.
പരേശഃ പരമോദാരഃ പ്രത്യക്ചൈതന്യദുര്ഗമഃ ।
ദുരാധര്ഷോ ദുരാവാസോ ദൂരത്വപരിനാശനഃ ॥ ൭൨ ॥
The Supreme Lord, the supremely generous, the one whose inner consciousness is difficult to attain, the invincible, the one who dwells in the difficult-to-reach, and the destroyer of the sense of distance.
വേദവിദ്വേദകൃദ്വേദോ വേദാത്മാ വിമലാശയഃ ।
വിവിക്തസേവീ ച സംസാരശ്രമനാശനസ്തഥാ ॥ ൭൩ ॥
He is the knower of the Vedas, the creator of the Vedas, the Vedas themselves, the embodiment of the Vedas, and one of pure intent. He dwells in solitude and is the destroyer of the weariness caused by worldly existence.
ബ്രഹ്മയോനിര്ബൃഹദ്യോനിര്വിശ്വയോനിര്വിദേഹവാന് ।
വിശാലാക്ഷോ വിശ്വനാഥോ ഹാടകാന്ഗദഭൂഷണഃ ॥ ൭൪ ॥
The source of Brahma, the source of the vast universe, the source of the entire world, the one who is bodiless, the large-eyed one, the Lord of the universe, and the one adorned with golden ornaments.
അബാധ്യോ ജഗദാരാധ്യോ ജഗദാര്തിവിനാശനഃ ।
ജനവാന്ധനവാന്ധര്മീ ധര്മഗോ ധര്മവര്ധനഃ ॥ ൭൫ ॥
He who is indestructible, He who is worshipped by the world, He who destroys the afflictions of the world, He who is the source of all beings, He who possesses all wealth, He who is righteous, He who protects righteousness, and He who promotes righteousness.
അമൃതഃ ശാശ്വതഃ സാദ്യഃ സിദ്ധിദഃ സുമനോഹരഃ ।
ഖലുബ്രഹ്മഖലുസ്ഥാനോ മുനീനാം പരമാ ഗതിഃ ॥ ൭൬ ॥
He is the nectar, the eternal, the immediate, the bestower of success, and the most charming. He is indeed Brahman, the abode of the universe, and the supreme goal of the sages.
ഉപദ്രഷ്ടാ തഥാ ശ്രേഷ്ഠഃ ശുചിര്ഭൂതോ ഹ്യനാമയഃ ।
വേദസിദ്ധാന്തവേദ്യശ്ച മാനസാഹ്ലാദവര്ധനഃ ॥ ൭൭ ॥
The Supreme Witness, the most excellent, the pure, the free from all ailments, the one known through the essence of the Vedas, and the one who increases the delight of the mind.
ദേഹദന്യോ ഗുണാദന്യോ ലോകാദന്യോ വിവേകവിത് ।
ദുഷ്ടസ്വപ്നഹരശ്ചൈവ ഗുരുര്ഗുരുവരോത്തമഃ ॥ ൭൮ ॥
He is distinct from the body, distinct from the qualities, and distinct from the worlds; He is the knower of discrimination, the destroyer of bad dreams, the Guru, and the best among the excellent Gurus.
കര്മീ കര്മവിനിര്മുക്തഃ സംന്യാസീ സാധകേശ്വരഃ ।
സര്വഭാവവിഹീനശ്ച തൃഷ്ണാസങ്ഗനിവാരകഃ ॥ ൭൯ ॥
He who performs actions yet is liberated from the bondage of karma, the renunciate, the lord of seekers, devoid of all worldly states, and the remover of craving and attachment.
ത്യാഗീ ത്യാഗവപുസ്ത്യാഗസ്ത്യാഗദാനവിവര്ജിതഃ ।
ത്യാഗകാരണത്യാഗാത്മാ സദ്ഗുരുഃ സുഖദായകഃ ॥ ൮൦ ॥
He is the renouncer, the embodiment of renunciation, renunciation itself, devoid of the need to renounce or give; He is the cause of renunciation, the soul of renunciation, the true Guru, and the bestower of happiness.
ദക്ഷോ ദക്ഷാദിവന്ദ്യശ്ച ജ്ഞാനവാദപ്രവര്തകഃ ।
ശബ്ദബ്രഹ്മമയാത്മാ ച ശബ്ദബ്രഹ്മപ്രകാശനഃ ॥ ൮൧ ॥
He is the expert, the one worshipped even by Daksha, the initiator of the discourse on knowledge, the one whose essence is the primordial sound (Shabda-Brahman), and the revealer of the primordial sound.
ഗ്രസിഷ്ണുഃ പ്രഭവിഷ്ണുശ്ച സഹിഷ്ണുര്വിഗതാന്തരഃ ।
വിദ്വത്തമോ മഹാവന്ദ്യോ വിശാലോത്തമവാങ്മുനിഃ ॥ ൮൨ ॥
He who is the devourer, the creator, the enduring one, and the one without any internal divisions; the most learned, the most worshipful, and the sage of vast and supreme speech.
ബ്രഹ്മവിദ്ബ്രഹ്മഭാവശ്ച ബ്രഹ്മര്ഷിര്ബ്രാഹ്മണപ്രിയഃ ।
ബ്രഹ്മ ബ്രഹ്മപ്രകാശാത്മാ ബ്രഹ്മവിദ്യാപ്രകാശനഃ ॥ ൮൩ ॥
The knower of Brahman, the one who has attained the state of Brahman, the sage among Brahmins, the beloved of the Brahmins, Brahman itself, the soul whose light is Brahman, and the illuminator of the knowledge of Brahman.
അത്രിവംശപ്രഭൂതാത്മാ താപസോത്തമവന്ദിതഃ ।
ആത്മവാസീ വിധേയാത്മാ ഹ്യത്രിവംശവിവര്ധനഃ ॥ ൮൪ ॥
He whose soul originated from the lineage of Atri, who is worshipped by the best of ascetics, who dwells within the Self, who has a disciplined mind, and who is the enhancer of the lineage of Atri.
പ്രവര്തനോ നിവൃത്താത്മാ പ്രലയോദകസന്നിഭഃ ।
നാരായണോ മഹാഗര്ഭോ ഭാര്ഗവപ്രിയകൃത്തമഃ ॥ ൮൫ ॥
He who is the impeller of all, whose nature is of renunciation, who is like the waters of the cosmic dissolution, who is Narayana, who contains the great universe within Himself, and who is the best among those who please the descendant of Bhrigu.
സങ്കല്പദുഃഖദലനഃ സംസാരതമനാശനഃ ।
ത്രിവിക്രമസ്ത്രിധാകാരസ്ത്രിമൂര്തിസ്ത്രിഗുണാത്മകഃ ॥ ൮൬ ॥
He who destroys the sorrows caused by desires, he who dispels the darkness of worldly existence, he who is the conqueror of the three worlds, he who manifests in three forms, he who is the Trinity, and he who is the essence of the three qualities.
ഭേദത്രയഹരശ്ചൈവ താപത്രയനിവാരകഃ ।
ദോഷത്രയവിഭേദീ ച സംശയാര്ണവഖണ്ഡനഃ ॥ ൮൭ ॥
He who destroys the three types of differences, removes the three types of afflictions, shatters the three types of faults, and destroys the ocean of doubts.
അസംശയസ്ത്വസമ്മൂഢോ ഹ്യവാദീ രാജനന്ദിതഃ ।
രാജയോഗീ മഹായോഗീ സ്വഭാവഗലിതസ്തഥാ ॥ ൮൮ ॥
He is free from doubt, free from delusion, silent, praised by kings, a royal yogi, a great yogi, and one whose nature has dissolved into the Self.
പുണ്യശ്ലോകഃ പവിത്രാങ്ഗിര്ധ്യാനയോഗപരായണഃ ।
ധ്യാനസ്ഥോ ധ്യാനഗമ്യശ്ച വിധേയാത്മാ പുരാതനഃ ॥ ൮൯ ॥
He whose fame is holy, whose limbs are pure, who is devoted to the yoga of meditation, who is absorbed in meditation, who is attainable through meditation, who has a controlled mind, and who is the ancient one.
അവിജ്ഞേയോ ഹ്യന്തരാത്മാ മുഖ്യബിമ്ബസനാതനഃ ।
ജീവസഞ്ജീവനോ ജീവശ്ചിദ്വിലാസശ്ചിദാശ്രയഃ ॥ ൯൦ ॥
He is the unknowable inner Self, the primary reflection, and the eternal One. He is the life-giver, the individual soul, the play of consciousness, and the refuge of consciousness.
മഹേന്ദ്രോഽമരമാന്യശ്ച യോഗേന്ദ്രോ യോഗവിത്തമഃ ।
യോഗധര്മസ്തഥാ യോഗസ്തത്ത്വസ്തത്ത്വവിനിശ്ചയഃ ॥ ൯൧ ॥
The Great Lord of the gods, the one honored by the immortals, the Lord of Yoga, the best among the knowers of Yoga, the embodiment of the dharma of Yoga, the essence of Yoga, the Truth, and the one who determines the ultimate reality.
നൈകബാഹുരനന്താത്മാ നൈകനാമപരാക്രമഃ ।
നൈകാക്ഷീ നൈകപാദശ്ച നാഥനാഥോത്തമോത്തമഃ ॥ ൯൨ ॥
He who has many arms, whose soul is infinite, who has many names and many powers, who has many eyes and many feet, who is the Lord of lords, and the highest of the high.
സഹസ്രശീര്ഷാ പുരുഷഃ സഹസ്രാക്ഷഃ സഹസ്രപാത് ।
സഹസ്രരൂപദൃക്ചൈവ സഹസ്രാരമയോദ്ഭവഃ ॥ ൯൩ ॥
The thousand-headed Purusha, the thousand-eyed, the thousand-footed, the one who manifests in a thousand forms, and the one who originates from the thousand-spoked wheel.
ത്രിപാദപുരുഷശ്ചൈവ ത്രിപാദൂധ്വസ്തഥൈവ ച ।
ത്ര്യമ്ബകശ്ച മഹാവീര്യോ യോഗവീര്യവിശാരദഃ ॥ ൯൪ ॥
He is the Being with three feet, He is the One whose three feet are above, He is the three-eyed One, He is of great prowess, and He is the expert in the power of Yoga.
വിജയീ വിനയീ ജേതാ വീതരാഗീ വിരാജിതഃ ।
രുദ്രോ രൌദ്രോ മഹാഭീമഃ പ്രാജ്ഞമുഖ്യഃ സദാശുചിഃ ॥ ൯൫ ॥
Victorious, humble, conqueror, dispassionate, resplendent, Rudra, fierce, greatly formidable, foremost among the wise, and eternally pure.
അന്തര്ജ്യോതിരനന്താത്മാ പ്രത്യഗാത്മാ നിരന്തരഃ ।
അരൂപശ്ചാത്മരൂപശ്ച സര്വഭാവവിനിര്വൃതഃ ॥ ൯൬ ॥
He is the inner light, the infinite Self, the indwelling soul, and the eternal one. He is formless and yet the very nature of the Self, completely detached from all states of existence.
അന്തഃ ശൂന്യോ ബഹിഃ ശൂന്യഃ ശൂന്യാത്മാ ശൂന്യഭാവനഃ ।
അന്തഃപൂര്ണോ ബഹിഃപൂര്ണഃ പൂര്ണാത്മാ പൂര്ണഭാവനഃ ॥ ൯൭ ॥
Empty within, empty without, whose essence is void, and whose nature is void; full within, full without, whose essence is fullness, and whose nature is fullness.
അന്തസ്ത്യാഗീ ബഹിസ്ത്യാഗീ ത്യാഗാത്മാ സര്വയോഗവാന് ।
അന്തര്യാഗീ ബഹിര്യാഗീ സര്വയോഗപരായണഃ ॥ ൯൮ ॥
He who is an internal renouncer, an external renouncer, the very soul of renunciation, and possessed of all Yogas; he who is an internal sacrificer, an external sacrificer, and devoted to all Yogas.
അന്തര്ഭോഗീ ബഹിര്ഭോഗീ സര്വഭോഗവിദുത്തമഃ ।
അന്തര്നിഷ്ഠോ ബഹിര്നിഷ്ഠഃ സര്വനിഷ്ഠാമയസ്തഥാ ॥ ൯൯ ॥
He who enjoys internally and externally, the best among all who enjoy; he who is established internally and externally, and is likewise the essence of all established states.
ബാഹ്യാന്തരവിമുക്തശ്ച ബാഹ്യാന്തരവിവര്ജിതഃ ।
ശാന്തഃ ശുദ്ധോ വിശുദ്ധശ്ച നിര്വാണഃ പ്രകൃതേഃ പരഃ ॥ ൧൦൦ ॥
He is free from both external and internal attachments, devoid of both external and internal states, peaceful, pure, supremely pure, liberated, and beyond nature.
അകാലഃ കാലനേമീ ച കാലകാലോ ജനേശ്വരഃ ।
കാലാത്മാ കാലകര്താ ച കാലജ്ഞഃ കാലനാശനഃ ॥ ൧൦൧ ॥
He is the timeless one, the destroyer of Kalanemi, the death of death, and the Lord of all beings. He is the soul of time, the creator of time, the knower of time, and the destroyer of time.
കൈവല്യപദദാതാ ച കൈവല്യസുഖദായകഃ ।
കൈവല്യകലനാധാരോ നിര്ഭരോ ഹര്ഷവര്ധനഃ ॥ ൧൦൨ ॥
The bestower of the state of liberation, the giver of the bliss of liberation, the support of the manifestation of liberation, the self-sufficient one, and the one who increases joy.
ഹൃദയസ്ഥോ ഹൃഷീകേശോ ഗോവിന്ദോ ഗര്ഭവര്ജിതഃ ।
സകലാഗമപൂജ്യശ്ച നിഗമോ നിഗമാശ്രയഃ ॥ ൧൦൩ ॥
He who resides in the heart, the Lord of the senses, the protector of the world, free from the cycle of birth, worshipped by all the scriptures, the embodiment of the Vedas, and the refuge of all Vedic knowledge.
പരാശക്തിഃ പരാകീര്തിഃ പരാവൃത്തിര്നിധിസ്മൃതിഃ ।
പരാവിദ്യാ പരാക്ഷാന്തിര്വിഭക്തിയുക്തസദ്ഗതിഃ ॥ ൧൦൪ ॥
The Supreme Power, the Supreme Glory, the Supreme Transformation, the Remembrance of the Treasure, the Supreme Knowledge, the Supreme Forbearance, and the Righteous Path endowed with devotion.
സ്വപ്രകാശഃ പ്രകാശാത്മാ പരസംവേദനാത്മകഃ ।
സ്വസേവ്യഃ സ്വവിദാം സ്വാത്മാ സ്വസംവേദ്യോഽനഘഃ ക്ഷമീ ॥ ൧൦൫ ॥
Self-luminous, the essence of light, the nature of supreme consciousness, worthy of being served by one's own self, the inner self of those who know the self, knowable only by the self, sinless, and forgiving.
സ്വാനുസന്ധാനശീലാത്മാ സ്വാനുസന്ധാനഗോചരഃ ।
സ്വാനുസന്ധാനശൂന്യാത്മാ സ്വാനുസന്ധാനാശ്രയസ്തഥാ ॥ ൧൦൬ ॥
He whose nature is to contemplate the Self, he who is accessible through contemplation of the Self, he whose nature is devoid of the contemplation of the Self, and he who is the refuge of the contemplation of the Self.
സ്വബോധദര്പണോഽഭങ്ഗഃ കന്ദര്പകുലനാശനഃ ।
ബ്രഹ്മചാരീ ബ്രഹ്മവേത്താ ബ്രാഹ്മണോ ബ്രഹ്മവിത്തമഃ ॥ ൧൦൭ ॥
He who is the mirror of self-knowledge, the unbroken, the destroyer of the lineage of Cupid, the celibate, the knower of Brahman, the knower of the Vedas, and the best among those who know Brahman.
തത്ത്വബോധഃ സുധാവര്ഷഃ പാവനഃ പാപപാവകഃ ।
ബ്രഹ്മസൂത്രവിധേയാത്മാ ബ്രഹ്മസൂത്രാര്ഥനിര്ണയഃ ॥ ൧൦൮ ॥
The knowledge of truth, the shower of nectar, the purifier, the consumer of sins, the soul whose nature is determined by the Brahma Sutras, and the final determination of the meaning of the Brahma Sutras.
ആത്യന്തികോ മഹാകല്പഃ സങ്കല്പാവര്തനാശനഃ ।
ആധിവ്യാധിഹരശ്ചൈവ സംശയാര്ണവശോഷകഃ ॥ ൧൦൯ ॥
He is the ultimate, the great aeon, the destroyer of the cycle of desires, the remover of mental and physical ailments, and the one who dries up the ocean of doubts.
തത്ത്വാത്മജ്ഞാനസന്ദേശോ മഹാനുഭവഭാവിതഃ ।
ആത്മാനുഭവസമ്പന്നഃ സ്വാനുഭാവസുഖാശ്രയഃ ॥ ൧൧൦ ॥
He who is the message of the knowledge of the essence of the Self, who is experienced by the great-souled ones, who is endowed with the experience of the Self, and who is the refuge of the bliss of self-realization.
അചിന്ത്യശ്ച ബൃഹദ്ഭാനുഃ പ്രമദോത്കര്ഷനാശനഃ ।
അനികേതപ്രശാന്താത്മാ ശൂന്യവാസോ ജഗദ്വപുഃ ॥ ൧൧൧ ॥
He is the Unthinkable, the Great Effulgence, the Destroyer of the pride of the arrogant, the Homeless One of tranquil soul, the Dweller in the Void, and the One whose body is the universe.
ചിദ്ഗതിശ്ചിന്മയശ്ചക്രീ മായാചക്രപ്രവര്തകഃ ।
സര്വവര്ണവിദാരമ്ഭീ സര്വാരമ്ഭപരായണഃ ॥ ൧൧൨ ॥
He who is the movement of consciousness, who is composed of consciousness, who holds the discus, who is the impeller of the wheel of Maya, who is the initiator of all creation, and who is devoted to all undertakings.
പുരാണഃ പ്രവരോ ദാതാ സുന്ദരഃ കനകാങ്ഗദീ ।
അനസൂയാത്മജോ ദത്തഃ സര്വജ്ഞഃ സര്വകാമദഃ ॥ ൧൧൩ ॥
The Ancient One, the Supreme Giver, the Beautiful One, the wearer of golden armlets, the son of Anasuya, Dattatreya, the Omniscient, the fulfiller of all desires.
കാമജിത്കാമപാലശ്ച കാമീ കാമപ്രദാഗമഃ ।
കാമവാന്കാമപോഷശ്ച സര്വകാമനിവര്തകഃ ॥ ൧൧൪ ॥
He who has conquered desire, the protector of desires, the lover, the source of scriptures that grant desires, the one who possesses desire, the nourisher of desires, and the remover of all desires.
സര്വകര്മഫലോത്പത്തിഃ സര്വകാമഫലപ്രദഃ ।
സര്വകര്മഫലൈഃ പൂജ്യഃ സര്വകര്മഫലാശ്രയഃ ॥ ൧൧൫ ॥
He is the origin of the fruits of all actions, the bestower of the fruits of all desires, the one to be worshipped through the fruits of all actions, and the refuge of the fruits of all actions.
വിശ്വകര്മാ കൃതാത്മാ ച കൃതജ്ഞഃ സര്വസാക്ഷികഃ ।
സര്വാരമ്ഭപരിത്യാഗീ ജഡോന്മത്തപിശാചവാന് ॥ ൧൧൬ ॥
The architect of the universe, the one whose self is fulfilled, the grateful one, the witness of all, the one who has renounced all undertakings, and the one who appears like an idiot, a madman, or a ghost.
ഭിക്ഷുര്ഭിക്ഷാകരശ്ചൈവ ഭൈക്ഷാഹാരീ നിരാശ്രമീ ।
അകൂലശ്ചാനുകൂലശ്ച വികലോ ഹ്യകലസ്തഥാ ॥ ൧൧൭ ॥
He is the mendicant, the one who seeks alms, the one who subsists on alms, and the one who is homeless. He is without support and yet the supporter of all, he is incomplete and yet the eternal one.
ജടിലോ വനചാരീ ച ദണ്ഡീ മുണ്ഡീ ച ഗണ്ഡവാന് ।
ദേഹധര്മവിഹീനാത്മാ ഹ്യേകാകീ സങ്ഗവര്ജിതഃ ॥ ൧൧൮ ॥
He is matted-haired, a wanderer of the forest, a bearer of the staff, shaven-headed, and possesses prominent cheeks. He is the soul devoid of bodily attributes, truly alone, and free from all attachments.
ആശ്രമ്യനാശ്രമാരമ്ഭോഽനാചാരീ കര്മവര്ജിതഃ ।
അസന്ദേഹീ ച സന്ദേഹീ ന കിഞ്ചിന്ന ച കിഞ്ചനഃ ॥ ൧൧൯ ॥
He who is beyond the stages of life and the beginner of no stages, who is devoid of conduct and free from actions, who is free from doubt and yet full of doubt, who is nothing and yet not even that.
നൃദേഹീ ദേഹശൂന്യശ്ച നാഭാവീ ഭാവനിര്ഗതഃ ।
നാബ്രഹ്മച പരബ്രഹ്മ സ്വയമേവ നിരാകുലഃ ॥ ൧൨൦ ॥
He is the one who has a human body yet is devoid of the body, who is not a created being yet is beyond all states of existence; He is not the conditioned Brahman but the Supreme Brahman Himself, who is ever undisturbed.
അനഘശ്ചാഗുരുശ്ചൈവ നാഥനാഥോത്തമോ ഗുരുഃ ।
ദ്വിഭുജഃ പ്രാകൃതശ്ചൈവ ജനകശ്ച പിതാമഹഃ ॥ ൧൨൧ ॥
He is the sinless one, the preceptorless one, the lord of lords, the supreme preceptor, the two-armed one, the one who appears as a worldly being, the father, and the grandfather.
അനാത്മാ ന ച നാനാത്മാ നീതിര്നീതിമതാം വരഃ ।
സഹജഃ സദൃശഃ സിദ്ധശ്ചൈകാചിന്മാത്ര ഏവ ച ॥ ൧൨൨ ॥
He is not the non-self, nor is He many-souled; He is the policy and the best among those who follow policy. He is innate, impartial, accomplished, and is pure consciousness alone.
ന കര്താപി ച കര്താ ച ഭോക്താ ഭോഗവിവര്ജിതഃ ।
തുരീയസ്തുരീയാതീതഃ സ്വച്ഛഃ സര്വമയസ്തഥാ ॥ ൧൨൩ ॥
Though not the doer, He is the doer; though the enjoyer, He is devoid of enjoyment. He is the Turiya (the fourth state), beyond the Turiya, pure, and the essence of all.
സര്വാധിഷ്ഠാനരൂപശ്ച സര്വധ്യേയവിവര്ജിതഃ ।
സര്വലോകനിവാസാത്മാ സകലോത്തമവന്ദിതഃ ॥ ൧൨൪ ॥
He is the substratum of all, devoid of all objects of meditation, the indwelling soul of all worlds, and worshipped by all the noble ones.
ദേഹഭൃദ്ദേഹകൃച്ചൈവ ദേഹാത്മാ ദേഹഭാവനഃ ।
ദേഹീ ദേഹവിഭക്തശ്ച ദേഹഭാവപ്രകാശനഃ ॥ ൧൨൫ ॥
He is the indweller of the body, the creator of the body, the soul of the body, and the one who perceives the body. He is the embodied soul, the one distinct from the body, and the revealer of the nature of the body.
ലയസ്ഥോ ലയവിച്ചൈവ ലയാഭാവശ്ച ബോധവാന് ।
ലയാതീതോ ലയസ്യാന്തോ ലയഭാവനിവാരണഃ ॥ ൧൨൬ ॥
He who resides in dissolution, he who knows dissolution, he who is the absence of dissolution, and he who is possessed of supreme knowledge; he who is beyond dissolution, he who is the end of dissolution, and he who removes the notion of dissolution.
വിമുഖഃ പ്രമുഖശ്ചൈവ പ്രത്യങ്മുഖവദാചരീ ।
വിശ്വഭുഗ്വിശ്വധൃഗ്വിശ്വോ വിശ്വക്ഷേമകരസ്തതജാ ॥ ൧൨൭ ॥
He who is indifferent and yet the foremost, who acts as if facing inward, who is the enjoyer of the universe, the supporter of the universe, the universe itself, and the one who brings welfare to the universe, born from that.
അവിക്ഷിപ്തോഽപ്രമാദീ ച പരര്ദ്ധിഃ പരമാര്ഥദൃക് ।
സ്വാനുഭാവവിഹീനശ്ച സ്വാനുഭാവപ്രകാശനഃ ॥ ൧൨൮ ॥
He is undistracted, vigilant, possessor of supreme opulence, and the seer of the ultimate truth; He is devoid of self-conceit, yet He is the revealer of His own glory.
നിരിന്ദ്രിയശ്ച നിര്ബുദ്ധിര്നിരാഭാസോ നിരാകൃതഃ ।
നിരഹങ്കാരശ്ചരൂപാത്മാ നിര്വപുഃ സകലാശ്രയഃ ॥ ൧൨൯ ॥
He is devoid of senses, devoid of intellect, devoid of appearance, and formless. He is devoid of ego, the essence of the sacrificial offering, without a physical body, and the support of all.
ശോകദുഃഖഹരശ്ചൈവ ഭോഗമോക്ഷഫലപ്രദഃ ।
സുപ്രസന്നസ്തഥാ സൂക്ഷ്മഃ ശബ്ദബ്രഹ്മാര്ഥസങ്ഗ്രഹഃ ॥ ൧൩൦ ॥
He is the remover of sorrow and suffering, the bestower of the fruits of worldly enjoyment and liberation, extremely gracious, subtle, and the embodiment of the essence of the Vedic word.
ആഗമാപായശൂന്യശ്ച സ്ഥാനദശ്ച സതാങ്ഗതിഃ ।
അകൃതഃ സുകൃതശ്ചൈവ കൃതകര്മാ വിനിര്വൃതഃ ॥ ൧൩൧ ॥
He is devoid of origin and dissolution, the bestower of positions, and the refuge of the virtuous. He is the uncreated, the well-created, the performer of all actions, and the one who is completely liberated.
ഭേദത്രയവരശ്ചൈവ ദേഹത്രയവിനിര്ഗതഃ ।
സര്വകാമമയശ്ചൈവ സര്വകാമനിവര്തകഃ ॥ ൧൩൨ ॥
He is the bestower of the three types of differences, He who has transcended the three bodies, He who is the embodiment of all desires, and He who is the remover of all desires.
സിദ്ധേശ്വരോഽജരഃ പഞ്ചബാണദര്പഹുതാശനഃ ।
ചതുരക്ഷരബീജാത്മാ സ്വഭൂശ്ചിത്കീര്തിഭൂഷണഃ ॥ ൧൩൩ ॥
He is the Lord of all accomplishments, ageless, the fire that consumes the pride of the five-arrowed god (Manmatha), the soul of the four-syllabled mantra, the self-existent one, and adorned with the glory of consciousness.
അഗാധബുദ്ധിരക്ഷുബ്ധശ്ചന്ദ്രസൂര്യാഗ്നിലോചനഃ ।
യമദംഷ്ട്രോഽതിസംഹര്താ പരമാനന്ദസാഗരഃ ॥ ൧൩൪ ॥
He whose intellect is unfathomable, who is unperturbed, whose eyes are the moon, the sun, and fire; he who has the fangs of Yama, who is the supreme destroyer, and the ocean of supreme bliss.
ലീലാവിശ്വമ്ഭരോ ഭാനുഭൈരവോ ഭീമലോചനഃ ।
ബ്രഹ്മചര്യാമ്ബരഃ കാലസ്ത്വചലശ്ചലനാന്തകഃ ॥ ൧൩൫ ॥
The one who sustains the universe through his divine play, the radiant Bhairava, the one with formidable eyes, the one whose garment is celibacy, the eternal time, the immovable one, and the destroyer of all movement.
ആദിദേവോ ജഗദ്യോനിര്വാസവാരിവിമര്ദനഃ ।
വികര്മകര്മകര്മജ്ഞോഽനന്യഗമകോഽഗമഃ ॥ ൧൩൬ ॥
The Primal God, the source of the universe, the destroyer of the ocean of worldly existence, the knower of forbidden actions, prescribed actions, and all actions, the one who is reached by none other, and the unreachable.
അബദ്ധകര്മശൂന്യശ്ച കാമരാഗകുലക്ഷയഃ ।
യോഗാന്ധകാരമഥനഃ പദ്മജന്മാദിവന്ദിതഃ ॥ ൧൩൭ ॥
He who is devoid of bound actions, the destroyer of the lineage of desire and attachment, the dispeller of the darkness of ignorance, and worshipped by Brahma and others.
ഭക്തകാമോഽഗ്രജശ്ചക്രീ ഭാവനിര്ഭാവഭാവകഃ ।
ഭേദാന്തകോ മഹാനഗ്ന്യോ നിഗൂഹോ ഗോചരാന്തകഃ ॥ ൧൩൮ ॥
He who fulfills the desires of His devotees, the Elder Brother, the wielder of the discus, the creator of the manifestation of feelings, the destroyer of differences, the great naked one, the mysterious one, and the destroyer of the limits of perception.
കാലാഗ്നിശമനഃ ശങ്ഖചക്രപദ്മഗദാധരഃ ।
ദീപ്തോ ദീനപതിഃ ശാസ്താ സ്വച്ഛന്ദോ മുക്തിദായകഃ ॥ ൧൩൯ ॥
He who extinguishes the fire of time, who holds the conch, discus, lotus, and mace, who is radiant, the lord of the distressed, the ruler, the self-willed, and the bestower of liberation.
വ്യോമഘര്മാമ്ബരോ ഭേത്താ ഭസ്മധാരീ ധരാധരഃ ।
ധര്മഗുപ്തോഽന്വയാത്മാ ച വ്യതിരേകാര്ഥനിര്ണയഃ ॥ ൧൪൦ ॥
He whose garment is the sky and the sun, the destroyer of ignorance, the wearer of sacred ash, the supporter of the earth, the protector of righteousness, the essence of lineage, and the determiner of the meaning of transcendence and immanence.
ഏകാനേകഗുണാഭാസാഭാസനിര്ഭാസവര്ജിതഃ ।
ഭാവാഭാവസ്വഭാവാത്മാ ഭാവാഭാവവിഭാവവിത് ॥ ൧൪൧ ॥
He who is devoid of the appearance, reflection, and manifestation of the one and the many qualities; whose nature is existence and non-existence; and who is the knower of the manifestation of existence and non-existence.
യോഗിഹൃദയവിശ്രാമോഽനന്തവിദ്യാവിവര്ധനഃ ।
വിഘ്നാന്തകസ്ത്രികാലജ്ഞസ്തത്ത്വാത്മാ ജ്ഞാനസാഗരഃ ॥ ൧൪൨ ॥
He who is the resting place of the hearts of yogis, the enhancer of infinite knowledge, the destroyer of obstacles, the knower of the three times, the essence of the ultimate reality, and the ocean of wisdom.
ഇതീദം ദത്തസാഹസ്രം സായം പ്രാതഃ പഠേത്തു യഃ ।
സ ഇഹാമുത്ര ലഭതേ നിര്വാണം പരമം സുഖമ് ॥ ൧൪൩ ॥
Whoever reads this thousand names of Dattatreya every evening and morning, attains supreme bliss and liberation both here and hereafter.
ഗുരുവാരേ ദത്തഭക്തോ ഭക്തിഭാവസമന്വിതഃ ।
പഠേത്സദൈവ തോ ഹ്യേതത്സ ലഭേച്ചിന്തിതം ധ്രുവമ് ॥ ൧൪൪ ॥
On a Thursday, a devotee of Dattatreya, filled with devotion, who always recites this, will certainly attain their desired goals.

ശ്രീമദ്ദത്താത്രേയസഹസ്രനാമസ്തോത്രം സമ്പൂര്ണമ് ॥
