धरणीगर्भ सम्भूतं विद्युक्यान्तिसमप्रभम् ।
कुमारं शक्ति हस्तं तं मङ्गलं प्रणमाम्यहम् ॥ 1 ॥
I offer my prostrations to Lord Mangala, who was born from the womb of the Earth, who possesses the radiant brilliance of lightning, who is ever-youthful, and who holds the divine spear (Shakti) in his hand.
महीसुत महाभागो मङ्गलो मङ्गलप्रदः ।
महावीरो महाशूरो महाबल पराक्रमः ॥ 2 ॥
I salute the son of the Earth, who is immensely fortunate, the bestower of auspiciousness, the great hero, the mighty warrior, and one who possesses immense strength and valor.
भरध्वाज कुलोद्भूतो भूसुतो भव्य भूषणः ।
मेरुं प्रदक्षिणं कृत्वा सर्वदेवात्म सिद्दिदम् ॥ 3 ॥
I bow to the one born in the lineage of Sage Bharadvaja, the son of the Earth, who is the ornament of the universe and who attained the grace of all the Devas by circumambulating Mount Meru.
नमस्ते महाशक्ति पाणे नमस्ते लसद्वज्रपाणे ।
नमस्ते कटिन्यस्तपाणे नमस्ते सदाभीष्टपाणे ॥ 4 ॥
Salutations to You, who holds the great power in Your hand; salutations to You, who wields the shining thunderbolt; salutations to You, who rests Your hand upon Your waist; salutations to You, who always grants all desired boons.
चतुर्भुजां मेषवाहनं वरदां वसुधाप्रियम् ।
रत्तमाल्याम्बरधरं तं अङ्गारकं प्रणमाम्यहम् ॥ 5 ॥
I prostrate before Angaraka (Mars), who has four arms, rides a ram, grants boons, is dear to the Earth, and is adorned with red garlands and red garments.
