അഥ ശ്രീവേങ്കടേശസുപ്രഭാതമ് ।
Now begins the auspicious morning awakening hymn to the glorious Lord Venkatesha.
കൌസല്യാ സുപ്രജാ രാമ പൂര്വാ സന്ധ്യാ പ്രവര്തതേ ।
O Rama, the noble son of Kausalya! The morning twilight is unfolding in the East.
ഉത്തിഷ്ഠ നരശാര്ദൂല കര്തവ്യം ദൈവമാഹ്നികമ് ॥ ൧॥
Arise, O tiger among men! The daily divine rites must be performed.
ഉത്തിഷ്ഠോത്തിഷ്ഠ ഗോവിന്ദ ഉത്തിഷ്ഠ ഗരുഡധ്വജ ।
Awake, arise, O Govinda! Arise, O Lord whose banner bears the emblem of Garuda!
ഉത്തിഷ്ഠ കമലാകാന്ത ത്രൈലോക്യം മങ്ഗലം കുരു ॥ ൨॥
Arise, O Beloved of Lakshmi! Bestow auspiciousness upon all the three worlds.
മാതസ്സമസ്തജഗതാം മധുകൈടഭാരേഃ
വക്ഷോവിഹാരിണി മനോഹരദിവ്യമൂര്തേ ।
O Mother of all the worlds,
Who sports upon the chest of the enemy of Madhu and Kaitabha,
O One of enchanting and divine form!
ശ്രീസ്വാമിനി ശ്രിതജന പ്രിയദാനശീലേ
ശ്രീവേങ്കടേശദയിതേ തവ സുപ്രഭാതമ് ॥ ൩॥
O Supreme Goddess, whose very nature is to bestow cherished blessings upon those who seek refuge in You,
O beloved Consort of Lord Venkatesha, may this dawn be gloriously auspicious to You.
തവ സുപ്രഭാതമരവിന്ദലോചനേ
ഭവതു പ്രസന്നമുഖചന്ദ്രമണ്ഡലേ ।
May this be an auspicious and glorious dawn unto You, O lotus-eyed Goddess, whose countenance is as serene and radiant as the orb of the full moon.
വിധിശങ്കരേന്ദ്രവനിതാഭിരര്ചിതേ
വൃഷശൈലനാഥദയിതേ ദയാനിധേ ॥ ൪॥
O You who are adored by the consorts of Brahma, Shiva, and Indra,
O Beloved of the Lord of Vrishashaila, O Ocean of Compassion!
അത്ര്യാദി സപ്തഋഷയസ്സമുപാസ്യ സന്ധ്യാം
ആകാശസിന്ധുകമലാനി മനോഹരാണി ।
The seven sages, led by Atri, having performed their morning worship of the dawn,
[bring] the captivatingly beautiful lotuses of the celestial Ganges.
ആദായ പാദയുഗമര്ചയിതും പ്രപന്നാഃ
ശേഷാദ്രിശേഖരവിഭോ തവ സുപ്രഭാതമ് ॥ ൫॥
Bearing offerings to worship Your pair of feet, those who have surrendered have approached. O all-pervading Lord of the peak of Seshadri, a most auspicious dawn unto You!
പഞ്ചാനനാബ്ജഭവഷണ്മുഖവാസവാദ്യാഃ
ത്രൈവിക്രമാദിചരിതം വിബുധാഃ സ്തുവന്തി ।
The celestial gods, led by the five-faced Shiva, the lotus-born Brahma, the six-faced Kartikeya, and Indra, sing the glories of Your divine pastimes, beginning with Your cosmic deeds as Trivikrama.
ഭാഷാപതിഃ പഠതി വാസരശുദ്ധിമാരാത്
ശേഷാദ്രിശേഖരവിഭോ തവ സുപ്രഭാതമ് ॥ ൬॥
O Lord of the crest of Sheshadri! Brahma, the master of speech, stands nearby, reciting the auspiciousness of the day's astrological alignments. May this be a glorious dawn unto You.
ഈഷത്പ്രഫുല്ലസരസീരുഹനാരികേല-
പൂഗദ്രുമാദി സുമനോഹരപാലികാനാമ് ।
Of the highly enchanting groves and gardens, adorned with gently blossoming lotuses, coconut palms, areca-nut trees, and other beautiful flora...
ആവാതി മന്ദമനിലസ്സഹ ദിവ്യഗന്ധൈഃ
ശേഷാദ്രിശേഖരവിഭോ തവ സുപ്രഭാതമ് ॥ ൭॥
The gentle breeze blows, bearing divine fragrances. O Lord of the summit of Sheshadri, may this dawn be auspicious unto Thee.
ഉന്മീല്യ നേത്രയുഗമുത്തമപഞ്ജരസ്ഥാഃ
പാത്രാവശിഷ്ടകദലീഫലപായസാനി ।
Opening their pair of eyes, those dwelling within exquisite cages [feed upon] the remnants of bananas and sweet milk-pudding left in the vessels...
ഭുക്ത്വാ സലീലമഥ കേലിശുകാഃ പഠന്തി
ശേഷാദ്രിശേഖരവിഭോ തവ സുപ്രഭാതമ് ॥ ൮॥
Having eaten with playful grace, the pet parrots now recite,
"O Lord of the peak of Sheshadri, may this be a most auspicious dawn unto You."
തന്ത്രീപ്രഹര്ഷമധുരസ്വനയാ വിപഞ്ച്യാ (തന്ത്രീപ്രകര്ഷ)
ഗായത്യനന്തചരിതം തവ നാരദോഽപി ।
Even the celestial sage Narada sings of Your infinite and boundless glories, playing upon his lute, the Vipanchi, which resonates with sweet and rapturous melodies produced by the exquisite vibration of its strings.
ഭാഷാസമഗ്രമസകൃത്കരചാരരമ്യം
ശേഷാദ്രിശേഖരവിഭോ തവ സുപ്രഭാതമ് ॥ ൯॥
Enriched with the absolute fullness of expressive language, and rendered enchanting by the repeated, graceful movements of the hands;
O Lord of the crest of the Sheshadri hills, a glorious and auspicious dawn unto You.
ഭൃങ്ഗാവലീ ച മകരന്ദരസാനുവിദ്ധ-
ഝങ്കാരഗീതനിനദൈഃ സഹ സേവനായ ।
And the swarms of bees, along with their humming songs steeped in the sweet essence of flower-nectar, have arrived to render their service.
നിര്യാത്യുപാന്തസരസീകമലോദരേഭ്യഃ
ശേഷാദ്രിശേഖരവിഭോ തവ സുപ്രഭാതമ് ॥ ൧൦॥
Emerging from the deep interiors of the lotuses in the adjacent lake,
O omnipresent Lord of the peak of Seshadri, may it be an auspicious dawn unto Thee.
യോഷാഗണേന വരദധ്നി വിമഥ്യമാനേ
ഘോഷാലയേഷു ദധിമന്ഥനതീവ്രഘോഷാഃ ।
While the excellent curd is being churned by the groups of women,
The intense, resounding sounds of curd-churning in the dwellings of the cowherd hamlets...
രോഷാത്കലിം വിദധതേ കകുഭശ്ച കുമ്ഭാഃ
ശേഷാദ്രിശേഖരവിഭോ തവ സുപ്രഭാതമ് ॥ ൧൧॥
The directions of the horizon and the water-pitchers are engaged in a dispute as if in anger.
O all-pervading Lord of the crest of Seshadri, may this be an auspicious dawn unto You!
പദ്മേശമിത്രശതപത്രഗതാലിവര്ഗാഃ
ഹര്തും ശ്രിയം കുവലയസ്യ നിജാങ്ഗലക്ഷ്മ്യാ ।
The swarms of bees, emerging from the lotuses opened by the sun,
seek to steal the splendor of the blue water-lilies with the dark, lustrous beauty of their own bodies.
ഭേരീനിനാദമിവ ബിഭ്രതി തീവ്രനാദം
ശേഷാദ്രിശേഖരവിഭോ തവ സുപ്രഭാതമ് ॥ ൧൨॥
Bearing a loud and resonant sound like the boom of a kettle-drum,
O Lord of the summit of Seshadri, may this be an auspicious dawn unto You.
ശ്രീമന്നഭീഷ്ടവരദാഖിലലോകബന്ധോ
ശ്രീശ്രീനിവാസ ജഗദേകദയൈകസിന്ധോ ।
O glorious Lord, bestower of all cherished boons and the sole friend of all the worlds!
O Lord Shrinivasa, the peerless ocean of infinite compassion for the entire universe!
ശ്രീദേവതാഗൃഹഭുജാന്തര ദിവ്യമൂര്തേ
ശ്രീവേങ്കടാചലപതേ തവ സുപ്രഭാതമ് ॥ ൧൩॥
O Divine Form, whose chest is the sacred abode of Goddess Lakshmi!

ശ്രീസ്വാമിപുഷ്കരിണികാഽഽപ്ലവനിര്മലാങ്ഗാഃ

Incessantly chanting the name of Your divine abode, they pray:
O Lord of the sacred Venkata Hill, may this dawn be auspicious unto You!
സേവാപരാഃ ശിവസുരേശകൃശാനുധര്മ-
രക്ഷോഽമ്ബുനാഥപവമാനധനാധിനാഥാഃ ।
Lord Shiva, Indra—the ruler of the gods, Agni—the fire, Yama—the lord of justice, Nirriti, Varuna—the lord of the waters, Vayu—the wind, and Kubera—the lord of wealth, stand eagerly waiting, completely dedicated to Your divine service.
ബദ്ധാഞ്ജലിപ്രവിലസന്നിജശീര്ഷദേശാഃ
ശ്രീവേങ്കടാചലപതേ തവ സുപ്രഭാതമ് ॥ ൧൬॥
With hands folded in deep reverence, resting radiantly upon their heads,
O Lord of the sacred Venkata Hill, may this be a glorious and auspicious dawn unto Thee.
ധാടീഷു തേ വിഹഗരാജമൃഗാധിരാജ-
നാഗാധിരാജഗജരാജഹയാധിരാജാഃ ।
In Your majestic, swift processions, the King of Birds, the King of Beasts, the Sovereign of Serpents, the Monarch of Elephants, and the Lord of Horses...
സ്വസ്വാധികാരമഹിമാധികമര്ഥയന്തേ

For us, who are the servants of the servants of Your servants, reaching to the ultimate limit of servitude,

ത്വത്പാദധൂലിഭരിതസ്ഫുരിതോത്തമാങ്ഗാഃ
സ്വര്ഗാപവര്ഗനിരപേക്ഷനിജാന്തരങ്ഗാഃ ।
Those whose heads are radiant, adorned with the sacred dust of Your feet,
and whose innermost hearts are utterly indifferent even to heaven and liberation.
കല്പാഗമാകലനയാഽഽകുലതാം ലഭന്തേ
ശ്രീവേങ്കടാചലപതേ തവ സുപ്രഭാതമ് ॥ ൧൯॥
Filled with anxious expectancy at the anticipation of the arrival of the cosmic dawn, they experience a restless stir;
O Lord of the sacred Venkata Hill, may Your morning be glorious and auspicious.
ത്വദ്ഗോപുരാഗ്രശിഖരാണി നിരീക്ഷമാണാഃ
സ്വര്ഗാപവര്ഗപദവീം പരമാം ശ്രയന്തഃ ।
Beholding the topmost spires of Your temple gateways,
they attain the supreme path of heaven and ultimate liberation.
മര്ത്യാ മനുഷ്യഭുവനേ മതിമാശ്രയന്തേ
ശ്രീവേങ്കടാചലപതേ തവ സുപ്രഭാതമ് ॥ ൨൦॥
In this earthly realm, mortals anchor their minds in devotion and seek refuge in You. O Lord of the sacred Venkata Hill, may this be a glorious and auspicious dawn unto You.
ശ്രീഭൂമിനായക ദയാദിഗുണാമൃതാബ്ധേ
ദേവാധിദേവ ജഗദേകശരണ്യമൂര്തേ ।
O Lord of Sri and Bhumi, O Ocean of the nectar of compassion and all divine virtues,
O God of gods, O Embodiment of the sole refuge of the entire universe.
ശ്രീമന്നനന്തഗരുഡാദിഭിരര്ചിതാങ്ഘ്രേ
ശ്രീവേങ്കടാചലപതേ തവ സുപ്രഭാതമ് ॥ ൨൧॥

ശ്രീപദ്മനാഭ പുരുഷോത്തമ വാസുദേവ
വൈകുണ്ഠ മാധവ ജനാര്ദന ചക്രപാണേ ।
O Lord Padmanabha, from whose navel springs the cosmic lotus; O Purushottama, the Supreme Divine Being; O Vasudeva, the all-pervading Lord;
O Vaikuntha, Lord of the eternal realm; O Madhava, the beloved of Sri; O Janardana, the savior of humanity; O Chakrapani, who wields the divine discus in His hand!
ശ്രീവത്സചിഹ്ന ശരണാഗതപാരിജാത
ശ്രീവേങ്കടാചലപതേ തവ സുപ്രഭാതമ് ॥ ൨൨॥
O Lord of the sacred Venkata Hill, who bears the divine mark of Shrivatsa upon Your chest, and who is the wish-fulfilling Parijata tree to those who seek refuge in You; may this dawn be auspicious unto You.
കന്ദര്പദര്പഹരസുന്ദരദിവ്യമൂര്തേ
കാന്താകുചാമ്ബുരുഹകുഡ്മലലോലദൃഷ്ടേ ।
O One of exquisitely beautiful and divine form, who humbles the pride of Cupid;
O Lord whose playful, longing glances rest upon the lotus-bud-like breasts of Your beloved.
കല്യാണനിര്മലഗുണാകരദിവ്യകീര്തേ
ശ്രീവേങ്കടാചലപതേ തവ സുപ്രഭാതമ് ॥ ൨൩॥
O Lord of divine renown, the boundless repository of auspicious and immaculate virtues! O Sovereign of the sacred Venkata Hill, may this morning be gloriously auspicious unto You.
മീനാകൃതേ കമഠകോലനൃസിംഹവര്ണിന്
സ്വാമിന് പരശ്വധതപോധന രാമചന്ദ്ര ।
O Supreme Lord, who assumed the form of the divine Fish, the Tortoise, the Boar, the Man-Lion, and the youthful celibate; O Master, who appeared as the great ascetic wielding the battle-axe, and as the noble Ramachandra;
ശേഷാംശരാമ യദുനന്ദന കല്കിരൂപ
ശ്രീവേങ്കടാചലപതേ തവ സുപ്രഭാതമ് ॥ ൨൪॥
O Rama, manifested as a portion of the cosmic serpent Shesha,
O beloved Joy of the Yadu dynasty, O Divine Lord in the form of Kalki,

ഏലാലവങ്ഗഘനസാരസുഗന്ധിതീര്ഥം
ദിവ്യം വിയത്സരിതി ഹേമഘടേഷു പൂര്ണമ് ।
The divine, sacred water from the celestial river, filled to the brim in golden pitchers, and rendered exquisitely fragrant with cardamom, cloves, and camphor.
ധൃത്വാഽഽദ്യ വൈദികശിഖാമണയഃ പ്രഹൃഷ്ടാഃ
തിഷ്ഠന്തി വേങ്കടപതേ തവ സുപ്രഭാതമ് ॥ ൨൫॥
Holding the sacred water-offerings, the great sages who are the crest-jewels of Vedic wisdom stand filled with supreme joy. O Lord of Venkatachala! May this be a glorious and auspicious dawn unto Thee.
ഭാസ്വാനുദേതി വികചാനി സരോരുഹാണി
സമ്പൂരയന്തി നിനദൈഃ കകുഭോ വിഹങ്ഗാഃ ।
The luminous sun is rising, the lotuses are blooming,
And the birds fill all the directions with their songs.
ശ്രീവൈഷ്ണവാസ്സതതമര്ഥിതമങ്ഗലാസ്തേ
ധാമാശ്രയന്തി തവ വേങ്കട സുപ്രഭാതമ് ॥ ൨൬॥
O Lord of Venkata! May this dawn be gloriously auspicious to You, whose sacred abode is sought as the ultimate refuge by the devout Sri Vaishnavas, who constantly pray for supreme auspiciousness.
ബ്രഹ്മാദയസ്സുരവരാസ്സമഹര്ഷയസ്തേ
സന്തസ്സനന്ദനമുഖാസ്ത്വഥ യോഗിവര്യാഃ । (മുഖാസ്തവ)
Brahma and the other supreme divinities, along with the great sages,
the virtuous saints led by Sanandana, and the foremost among yogis...
ധാമാന്തികേ തവ ഹി മങ്ഗലവസ്തുഹസ്താഃ

Indeed, near Your divine abode, they stand holding auspicious offerings in their hands;
O Lord of Mount Venkata, may this be a glorious dawn to You.
ലക്ഷ്മീനിവാസ നിരവദ്യഗുണൈകസിന്ധോ
സംസാരസാഗരസമുത്തരണൈകസേതോ ।
O Abode of Goddess Lakshmi, O sole ocean of flawless virtues,
O ultimate bridge to cross over the vast ocean of worldly existence!
വേദാന്തവേദ്യ നിജവൈഭവ ഭക്തഭോഗ്യ
ശ്രീവേങ്കടാചലപതേ തവ സുപ്രഭാതമ് ॥ ൨൮॥
O Lord of the sacred Venkata Hill,
who is realized through the ultimate truth of Vedanta,
whose sovereign majesty is innate and infinite,
and who is the supreme bliss experienced by Your devotees—
may this dawn be auspicious unto You.

തേഷാം പ്രഭാതസമയേ സ്മൃതിരങ്ഗഭാജാം
പ്രജ്ഞാം പരാര്ഥസുലഭാം പരമാം പ്രസൂതേ ॥ ൨൯॥
For those embodied souls, the remembrance of the Lord at the sacred hour of dawn awakens supreme and ultimate wisdom, which effortlessly bestows the highest spiritual goal.

**Verse 1**
O Rama, the noble son of Kausalya! The eastern dawn is breaking. Awake, O lion among men! The daily morning rituals in service of the Divine must be performed.
**Verse 2**
Awake, awake, O Govinda! Awake, O Lord whose banner bears the emblem of Garuda! Awake, O beloved Consort of Kamala (Lakshmi)! Bestow auspiciousness upon all the three worlds.
**Verse 3**
O Mother of all the worlds, who sports on the chest of Hari, the enemy of Madhu and Kaitabha! O resident of the enchanting divine abode of Vishnu! O Supreme Sovereign, whose very nature is to grant beloved boons to those who take refuge in You! O beloved of Sri Venkatesha, may this morning be auspicious to You.
**Verse 4**
May this morning be auspicious to You, O Lotus-eyed Mother, whose serene face is like the radiant full moon, who is adored by Brahma, Shiva, Indra, and the rulers of men! O Consort of the Lord of Vrishabhachala, O Ocean of Compassion!
**Verse 5**
The great sages, such as Atri and others, having completed their morning rites, now stand at Your threshold, their hearts filled with eager longing to behold You, along with bards singing Your praises, O Giver of Boons! O Lord of Sri Venkatachala, may this morning be auspicious to You.
**Verse 6**
The five-faced Shiva, the lotus-born Brahma, Shanmukha, Indra, and other celestials are chanting the glories of Your divine deeds, such as Your manifestation as Trivikrama. Nearby, Brihaspati is reading aloud the planetary alignments of the day. O Lord of Sri Venkatachala, may this morning be auspicious to You.

The morning breeze, carrying the sweet fragrance of gently blooming lotuses and water-lilies, and bearing the freshness of newly opened flower garlands surrounded by humming bees, is blowing softly. O Lord of Sri Venkatachala, may this morning be auspicious to You.
**Verse 8**
The morning wind, laden with the pollen of red lotuses, has blown open the doors of the temple. The sweet-voiced birds are singing their morning melodies. O Lord of Sri Venkatachala, may this morning be auspicious to You.
**Verse 9**
The swarms of bees on the lotuses, fearing that the blue water-lilies might steal their beauty, are hovering restlessly while drinking the cool morning breeze. O Lord of Sri Venkatachala, may this morning be auspicious to You.
**Verse 10**
Divine sages, holding their Veenas and producing sweet, melodious sounds from their tense strings, are singing of Your sacred and sublime pastimes, their hearts purified by Your divine deeds. O Lord of Sri Venkatachala, may this morning be auspicious to You.
**Verse 11**
Deep within the flowering creepers, which serve as dwellings for swarms of bees, and amidst the budding blossoms and tender leaves, the gatherings of honeybees are humming sweet, melodious notes. O Lord of Sri Venkatachala, may this morning be auspicious to You.
**Verse 12**
To the rhythm of stringed instruments, mridangam drums, and diverse music, the Gandharvas and Kinnaras enliven the celestial assembly, while the heavenly maidens dance with ecstasy to please You. O Lord of Sri Venkatachala, may this morning be auspicious to You.
**Verse 13**
The Sun, the friend of the blooming, pollen-filled lotus ponds, is rising, dispelling the darkness with his rays, and the entire expanse of the quarters is illuminated, revealing itself clearly. O Lord of Sri Venkatachala, may this morning be auspicious to You.
**Verse 14**
The deep, resonant sound of churning rods, combined with the splashing of curds being vigorously churned by the Gopis, creates a wonderful melody, rendered even more captivating by the graceful movements of the cowherd maidens. O Lord of Sri Venkatachala, may this morning be auspicious to You.
**Verse 15**

O Abode of Lakshmi, possessing faultless and supreme qualities! O Sanctuary of safety, whose fame is earned by protecting those who surrender to You! O Bestower of the path to Vaikuntha! O Lord of Sri Venkatachala, may this morning be auspicious to You.

O Lord of exquisite divine form, whose beauty humbles the pride of Kama (the god of love)! O Lord whose eyes gaze lovingly upon the lotus-buds of the Gopis’ hearts! O Source of all auspicious and pure virtues, the Ruler of the earth! O Lord of Sri Venkatachala, may this morning be auspicious to You.

O Lord of infinite fame, who delights in Your various divine incarnations starting with Kurma (the tortoise), which vanquished the pride of the demons! O Lord whose glory is sung by Garuda, the son of Vinata, with great devotion! O Lord of Sri Venkatachala, may this morning be auspicious to You.
**Verse 19**
The holy water, fragrant with cardamom, cloves, and camphor, brought by the celestials from the heavenly Ganga, has been kept ready for Your morning bath. O Lord of Sri Venkatachala, may this morning be auspicious to You.
**Verse 20**
The pure Sun has risen, and the hosts of gods, sages, and devotees have gathered, holding fresh garlands of lotuses and offering auspicious lamps to behold You. O Lord of Sri Venkatachala, may this morning be auspicious to You.
**Verse 21**
O Lord! The mirrors, fans, and fly-whisks, as well as the materials for worship like incense and lamps, are held ready by Your attendants. O Lord of Sri Venkatachala, may this morning be auspicious to You.

The priests, who are well-versed in the Vedas and Agamas, are standing at Your door, waiting to perform the sacred worship and to offer the morning prayers. O Lord of Sri Venkatachala, may this morning be auspicious to You.

O Lord of the sacred hills—Seshadri, Garudachala, Venkatadri, Narayanadri, Vrishabhadri, Vrishadri, and Anjanadri! O Supreme Lord who resides on these seven hills, may this morning be auspicious to You.

O Lord whose beautiful, lotus-like feet are marked with auspicious signs, whose chest bears the mark of Srivatsa and is the eternal abode of Lakshmi! O Lord who is the savior of the universe, may this morning be auspicious to You.

O Lord of Rama (Lakshmi), whose divine form is exceedingly enchanting, who is the protector of the virtuous, the destroyer of the wicked, and the sole refuge of the three worlds! O Lord of Sri Venkatachala, may this morning be auspicious to You.

O Lord who granted the boon of liberation to the elephant Gajendra, who is the ocean of mercy, and who is ever ready to protect those who seek shelter in You! O Lord of Sri Venkatachala, may this morning be auspicious to You.

O Lord whose divine abode is on the Shesha hill, who is worshipped by the masters of the Vedas, and who is the giver of supreme bliss and liberation! O Lord of Sri Venkatachala, may this morning be auspicious to You.

O Lord who, out of compassion for humanity, left the supreme abode of Vaikuntha to reside on the Venkata hill to bless Your devotees! O Lord of Sri Venkatachala, may this morning be auspicious to You.

O Lord of Sri Venkatachala! May this morning bring all auspiciousness to You, who are the supreme lord of the universe, the ocean of mercy, and the sole refuge of all living beings.

കമലാകുചചൂചുകകുങ്കുമതോ
നിയതാരുണിതാതുലനീലതനോ ।
O Lord of matchless blue form,
Perpetually crimsoned by the saffron paste
From the tips of the breasts of Goddess Kamala,
കമലായതലോചന ലോകപതേ
വിജയീ ഭവ വേങ്കടശൈലപതേ ॥ ൧॥
O Lotus-eyed Lord, Sovereign of the worlds,
May You be victorious, O Lord of the Venkata Hill!
സചതുര്മുഖഷണ്മുഖപഞ്ചമുഖ-
പ്രമുഖാഖിലദൈവതമൌലിമണേ ।
O supreme Crest-Jewel upon the crowns of all the divinities, foremost among whom are the four-faced Brahma, the six-faced Shanmukha, and the five-faced Shiva!
ശരണാഗതവത്സല സാരനിധേ
പരിപാലയ മാം വൃഷശൈലപതേ ॥ ൨॥
O deeply affectionate protector of those who seek refuge, O boundless reservoir of all supreme essence,
Sustain and guard me completely, O Lord of the Vrishabha Hill.
അതിവേലതയാ തവ ദുര്വിഷഹൈഃ
അനുവേലകൃതൈരപരാധശതൈഃ ।
By the hundreds of unbearable offenses,
committed against You incessantly at every moment,
which have transgressed all boundaries...
ഭരിതം ത്വരിതം വൃഷശൈലപതേ
പരയാ കൃപയാ പരിപാഹി ഹരേ ॥ ൩॥
O Lord of the Vrishabha Hill, O Hari!
With Your supreme compassion,
swiftly and completely protect me.
അധിവേങ്കടശൈലമുദാരമതേ-
ര്ജനതാഭിമതാധികദാനരതാത് ।
Upon the Venkata Hill, from the One of magnanimous mind,
who is ever-intent on bestowing far more than what is desired by the multitudes of people...
പരദേവതയാ ഗദിതാന്നിഗമൈഃ
കമലാദയിതാന്ന പരം കലയേ ॥ ൪॥
I recognize no reality superior to the Beloved of Kamala, who is proclaimed by the Vedas as the Supreme Divinity.
കലവേണുരവാവശഗോപവധൂ-
ശതകോടിവൃതാത്സ്മരകോടിസമാത് ।
Who is surrounded by billions of cowherd maidens helplessly captivated by the sweet melody of His flute, and who equals tens of millions of Cupids in His divine beauty.
പ്രതിവല്ലവികാഭിമതാത്സുഖദാത്
വസുദേവസുതാന്ന പരം കലയേ ॥ ൫॥
I know of no supreme reality higher than the son of Vasudeva, who is the bestower of supreme bliss and the beloved of every cowherd maiden.
അഭിരാമഗുണാകര ദാശരഥേ
ജഗദേകധനുര്ധര ധീരമതേ ।
O Son of Dasharatha, the treasury of enchanting virtues,
The sole peerless archer of the universe, of steadfast and resolute mind.
രഘുനായക രാമ രമേശ വിഭോ
വരദോ ഭവ ദേവ ദയാജലധേ ॥ ൬॥
O Leader of the Raghu Dynasty, O Rama, O Lord of Lakshmi, O All-Pervading One!
O Divine Sovereign, O Ocean of Compassion, be the bestower of boons.
അവനീതനയാകമനീയകരം
രജനീകരചാരുമുഖാമ്ബുരുഹമ് ।
He who holds the beautiful, beloved hand of the Earth’s daughter,
Whose lotus-face is as lovely as the moon.
രജനീചരരാജതമോമിഹിരം
മഹനീയമഹം രഘുരാമമയേ ॥ ൭॥
I seek refuge in the worshipful Lord Rama of the Raghu dynasty, who is the brilliant Sun that dispels the darkness of the king of the night-roaming demons.
സുമുഖം സുഹൃദം സുലഭം സുഖദം
സ്വനുജം ച സുകായമമോഘശരമ് ।
He of the most gracious and radiant countenance, the compassionate friend of all, easily accessible, and the bestower of supreme bliss; accompanied by His noble younger brother, possessing a divinely beautiful form, and wielding arrows that never fail.
അപഹായ രഘൂദ്വഹമന്യമഹം
ന കഥഞ്ചന കഞ്ചന ജാതു ഭജേ ॥ ൮॥
Leaving aside the preeminent descendant of the Raghu dynasty, I shall never, under any circumstances, at any time, worship any other.
വിനാ വേങ്കടേശം ന നാഥോ ന നാഥഃ
സദാ വേങ്കടേശം സ്മരാമി സ്മരാമി ।
Without Venkatesha, there is no lord, no savior;
Always do I remember Venkatesha, ever do I remember Him.
ഹരേ വേങ്കടേശ പ്രസീദ പ്രസീദ
പ്രിയം വേങ്കടേശ പ്രയച്ഛ പ്രയച്ഛ ॥ ൯॥
O Hari! O Lord Venkatesha! Be pleased, be gracious!
O Lord Venkatesha! Bestow, oh bestow upon me that which is dear and beneficial!
അഹം ദൂരതസ്തേ പദാമ്ഭോജയുഗ്മ-
പ്രണാമേച്ഛയാഽഽഗത്യ സേവാം കരോമി ।
Having come from afar with the yearning to prostrate before the pair of Your lotus feet, I offer my service unto You.
സകൃത്സേവയാ നിത്യസേവാഫലം ത്വം
പ്രയച്ഛ പ്രയച്ഛ പ്രഭോ വേങ്കടേശ ॥ ൧൦॥
O Lord Venkatesha!
Through a single act of devotion,
bestow, pray bestow, the fruit of eternal service.
അജ്ഞാനിനാ മയാ ദോഷാന് അശേഷാന്വിഹിതാന് ഹരേ ।
O Hari, all faults and transgressions, without exception, have been committed by me, an ignorant soul.
ക്ഷമസ്വ ത്വം ക്ഷമസ്വ ത്വം ശേഷശൈലശിഖാമണേ ॥ ൧൧॥
Forgive, O Lord, please forgive, You who are the crest-jewel of the Seshachala Hill.

ഈശാനാം ജഗതോഽസ്യ വേങ്കടപതേര്വിഷ്ണോഃ പരാം പ്രേയസീം
തദ്വക്ഷസ്സ്ഥലനിത്യവാസരസികാം തത്ക്ഷാന്തിസംവര്ധിനീമ് ।
The sovereign Queen of this universe, the supreme beloved of Vishnu, the Lord of Venkata;
She who delights in eternally dwelling upon His chest, and who ever nurtures His divine mercy and forgiveness.
പദ്മാലങ്കൃതപാണിപല്ലവയുഗാം പദ്മാസനസ്ഥാം ശ്രിയം
വാത്സല്യാദിഗുണോജ്ജ്വലാം ഭഗവതീം വന്ദേ ജഗന്മാതരമ് ॥ ൧॥
I bow to the divine Goddess Shri, the Mother of the Universe,
Who is seated upon a lotus throne,
Whose pair of tender, sprout-like hands is adorned with lotuses,
And who shines radiantly with maternal affection and other divine virtues.
ശ്രീമന് കൃപാജലനിധേ കൃതസര്വലോക
സര്വജ്ഞ ശക്ത നതവത്സല സര്വശേഷിന് ।
O glorious Lord of Sri, Ocean of Compassion, Creator of all the worlds,
O Omniscient, All-Powerful, tenderly affectionate to those who surrender to You,
O Supreme Master of all existence.
സ്വാമിന് സുശീല സുലഭാശ്രിതപാരിജാത
ശ്രീവേങ്കടേശചരണൌ ശരണം പ്രപദ്യേ ॥ ൨॥
O Lord, of sublime disposition, Who are the wish-fulfilling celestial tree easily accessible to those who seek refuge in You! I take ultimate refuge at the divine feet of Lord Sri Venkatesha.
ആനൂപുരാര്പിതസുജാതസുഗന്ധിപുഷ്പ-
സൌരഭ്യസൌരഭകരൌ സമസന്നിവേശൌ ।
Perfectly and symmetrically proportioned,
Your two feet enhance the very fragrance of the exquisite, sweet-smelling flowers offered up to Your anklets.
സൌമ്യൌ സദാഽനുഭവനേഽപി നവാനുഭാവ്യൌ
ശ്രീവേങ്കടേശചരണൌ ശരണം പ്രപദ്യേ ॥ ൩॥
I take refuge at the twin feet of Lord Sri Venkatesha,
which are eternally gentle, and though constantly experienced,
remain ever-fresh, yielding new and profound bliss at every moment.
സദ്യോവികാസിസമുദിത്വരസാന്ദ്രരാഗ-
സൌരഭ്യനിര്ഭരസരോരുഹസാമ്യവാര്താമ് ।
The claim of resemblance to a lotus—one that is freshly blooming, radiant with a surging, deep crimson glow, and brimming with exquisite fragrance...
സമ്യക്ഷു സാഹസപദേഷു വിലേഖയന്തൌ
ശ്രീവേങ്കടേശചരണൌ ശരണം പ്രപദ്യേ ॥ ൪॥
I take refuge at the twin feet of Lord Venkatesha, which perfectly engrave their divine and protective marks upon the paths of supreme courage.
രേഖാമയധ്വജസുധാകലശാതപത്ര
വജ്രാങ്കുശാമ്ബുരുഹകല്പകശങ്ഖചക്രൈഃ ।
By the auspicious marks, formed of sacred lines, of the banner, the vessel of nectar, the royal parasol, the thunderbolt, the elephant-goad, the lotus, the wish-fulfilling tree, the conch, and the discus...
ഭവ്യൈരലങ്കൃതതലൌ പരതത്ത്വചിന്ഹൈഃ
ശ്രീവേങ്കടേശചരണൌ ശരണം പ്രപദ്യേ ॥ ൫॥
I take refuge at the sacred feet of Lord Venkatesha, whose divine soles are adorned with the auspicious symbols of the Supreme Truth.
താമ്രോദരദ്യുതിപരാജിതപദ്മരാഗൌ
ബാഹ്യൈര്മഹോഭിരഭിഭൂതമഹേന്ദ്രനീലൌ ।
Those two feet, which have surpassed the beauty of rubies by the coppery-red luster of their soles,
And have completely eclipsed the splendor of sapphires by their outer radiance.
ഉദ്യന്നഖാംശുഭിരുദസ്തശശാങ്കഭാസൌ
ശ്രീവേങ്കടേശചരണൌ ശരണം പ്രപദ്യേ ॥ ൬॥
I take refuge in the divine feet of Lord Sri Venkatesha, which, by the radiant rays of their rising nails, eclipse the splendor of the moon.
സപ്രേമഭീതി കമലാകരപല്ലവാഭ്യാം
സംവാഹനേഽപി സപദി ക്ലമമാദധാനൌ ।
Those two feet of Yours, which instantly experience fatigue even when gently massaged with a blend of deep love and reverent awe by the tender, sprout-like hands of Goddess Lakshmi...
കാന്താവവാങ്ഗ്മനസഗോചരസൌകുമാര്യൌ
ശ്രീവേങ്കടേശചരണൌ ശരണം പ്രപദ്യേ ॥ ൭॥
I take refuge in the two feet of Lord Sri Venkatesha, which are supremely beautiful and endowed with an exquisite tenderness that transcends the reach of both speech and mind.
ലക്ഷ്മീമഹീതദനുരൂപനിജാനുഭാവ-
നീലാദിദിവ്യമഹിഷീകരപല്ലവാനാമ് ।
Of the tender, sprout-like hands of the divine consorts—Lakshmi, Bhudevi, and Nila, along with others—who possess their own inherent, majestic glory matching Your own divine nature...
ആരുണ്യസങ്ക്രമണതഃ കില സാന്ദ്രരാഗൌ
ശ്രീവേങ്കടേശചരണൌ ശരണം പ്രപദ്യേ ॥ ൮॥
I seek refuge in the two feet of Lord Venkatesha, which indeed possess an intense rosy glow, as if the very crimson radiance of dawn has been transferred onto them.
നിത്യാനമദ്വിധിശിവാദികിരീടകോടി-
പ്രത്യുപ്തദീപ്തനവരത്നമഹഃപ്രരോഹൈഃ ।
By the surging rays of splendor emanating from the brilliant nine gems embedded in the crests of the crowns of Brahma, Shiva, and the other gods, who are eternally bowing down...
നീരാജനാവിധിമുദാരമുപാദധാനൌ
ശ്രീവേങ്കടേശചരണൌ ശരണം പ്രപദ്യേ ॥ ൯॥
I take refuge at the two feet of Lord Venkatesha, which graciously accept the grand and magnificent ritual offering of sacred lights.
വിഷ്ണോഃ പദേ പരമ ഇത്യുദിതപ്രശംസൌ
യൌ മധ്വ ഉത്സ ഇതി ഭോഗ്യതയാഽപ്യുപാത്തൌ ।
Those two [feet] which are highly extolled in the sacred scriptures as abiding "in the supreme step of Vishnu," and which are also experienced as "the spring of sweet nectar" due to their supreme, blissful enjoyability...
ഭൂയസ്തഥേതി തവ പാണിതലപ്രദിഷ്ടൌ
ശ്രീവേങ്കടേശചരണൌ ശരണം പ്രപദ്യേ ॥ ൧൦॥
I take refuge at the sacred feet of Lord Sri Venkatesha, which are pointed to by the palm of Your hand, as if repeatedly declaring, "Seek shelter in this very manner."
പാര്ഥായ തത്സദൃശസാരഥിനാ ത്വയൈവ
യൌ ദര്ശിതൌ സ്വചരണൌ ശരണം വ്രജേതി ।
Those two feet of Yours, which were revealed by You Yourself, acting as a charioteer truly worthy of Partha, with the command, "Seek refuge in them"—
ഭൂയോഽപി മഹ്യമിഹ തൌ കരദര്ശിതൌ തേ
ശ്രീവേങ്കടേശചരണൌ ശരണം പ്രപദ്യേ ॥ ൧൧॥
Once again, in this world, I surrender to those two feet of Yours, O Lord Venkatesha, which are pointed out to me by Your own hand as my ultimate refuge.
മന്മൂര്ധ്നി കാലിയഫണേ വികടാടവീഷു
ശ്രീവേങ്കടാദ്രിശിഖരേ ശിരസി ശ്രുതീനാമ് ।
Upon my own head, upon the hoods of the serpent Kaliya,
Within the dense and formidable wilderness,
Upon the sacred summit of the Venkata Hill,
And atop the crown of the Vedas...
ചിത്തേഽപ്യനന്യമനസാം സമമാഹിതൌ തേ
ശ്രീവേങ്കടേശചരണൌ ശരണം പ്രപദ്യേ ॥ ൧൨॥
I take refuge at the two feet of Lord Venkatesha, which are perfectly established in the hearts of those whose minds are devoted to Him alone with undivided attention.
അമ്ലാനഹൃഷ്യദവനീതലകീര്ണപുഷ്പൌ
ശ്രീവേങ്കടാദ്രിശിഖരാഭരണായമാനൌ ।
Those two feet, upon which unfading flowers are strewn by the ecstatic, rejoicing earth,
And which shine as the ultimate crown-ornament upon the peak of the sacred Venkata Hill.
ആനന്ദിതാഖിലമനോനയനൌ തവൈതൌ
ശ്രീവേങ്കടേശചരണൌ ശരണം പ്രപദ്യേ ॥ ൧൩॥
I take refuge in these two feet of Yours, O Lord Venkatesha, which bring supreme bliss to the minds and eyes of all.
പ്രായഃ പ്രപന്നജനതാപ്രഥമാവഗാഹ്യൌ
മാതുസ്സ്തനാവിവ ശിശോരമൃതായമാനൌ ।
Verily, like a mother’s breasts that yield life-giving nectar to her infant, they are the very first sanctuary to be sought and immersed in by the multitude of surrendered souls.
പ്രാപ്തൌ പരസ്പരതുലാമതുലാന്തരൌ തേ
ശ്രീവേങ്കടേശചരണൌ ശരണം പ്രപദ്യേ ॥ ൧൪॥
I seek refuge in those two feet of Lord Sri Venkatesha, which, being incomparable to anything else in the universe, find comparison only in each other, and are utterly peerless in their supreme glory.
സത്ത്വോത്തരൈസ്സതതസേവ്യപദാമ്ബുജേന
സംസാരതാരകദയാര്ദ്ര ദൃഗഞ്ചലേന ।
By Him whose lotus feet are eternally adored by those supreme in purity and goodness,
And whose sidelong glance, moist with tender compassion, delivers souls from the ocean of worldly existence.
സൌമ്യോപയന്തൃമുനിനാ മമ ദര്ശിതൌ തേ
ശ്രീവേങ്കടേശചരണൌ ശരണം പ്രപദ്യേ ॥ ൧൫॥
I surrender and take refuge at those two feet of Lord Sri Venkatesha,
which were revealed to me by the revered sage Saumya Upayantri.
ശ്രീശ ശ്രിയാ ഘടികയാ ത്വദുപായഭാവേ
പ്രാപ്യേ ത്വയി സ്വയമുപേയതയാ സ്ഫുരന്ത്യാ ।
O Lord of Lakshmi! When You assume the role of the Means to salvation, Lakshmi acts as the mediator who unites us with You; and when You are realized as the ultimate Goal to be attained, She Herself shines resplendently as that very Goal.
നിത്യാശ്രിതായ നിരവദ്യഗുണായ തുഭ്യം
സ്യാം കിങ്കരോ വൃഷഗിരീശ ന ജാതു മഹ്യമ് ॥ ൧൬॥
O Lord of Vrishagiri! May I forever be a servant unto You—who are the eternal refuge of Goddess Lakshmi and the possessor of flawless, divine attributes—and may I never, at any time, exist for my own sake.
॥ ഇതി വേങ്കടേശപ്രപത്തി ॥
Thus concludes the absolute self-surrender to Lord Venkatesha.

ശ്രിയഃ കാന്തായ കല്യാണനിധയേ നിധയേഽര്ഥിനാം
ശ്രീവേങ്കടനിവാസായ ശ്രീനിവാസായ മങ്ഗലമ് ॥ ൧॥
May all auspicious glory be unto Lord Srinivasa—
the beloved of Sri, the eternal treasure-house of all auspiciousness,
the ultimate treasury for all who seek refuge,
who dwells upon the sacred Venkata Hill.
ലക്ഷ്മീ സവിഭ്രമാലോകസുഭ്രൂവിഭ്രമചക്ഷുഷേ
ചക്ഷുഷേ സര്വലോകാനാം വേങ്കടേശായ മങ്ഗലമ് ॥ ൨॥
To Him whose eyes are filled with playful delight, captivated by the loving glances and the graceful movement of the beautiful eyebrows of Goddess Lakshmi,
To Him who is Himself the supreme eye of all the worlds—may all auspiciousness and glory be unto Lord Venkatesha.
ശ്രീവേങ്കടാദ്രിശൃങ്ഗാങ്ഗ്രമങ്ഗലാഭരണാങ്ഘ്രയേ
മങ്ഗലാനാം നിവാസായ ശ്രീനിവാസായ മങ്ഗലമ് ॥ ൩॥
May all auspicious glory be unto Lord Srinivasa,
Who is the eternal abode of all auspiciousness,
And whose divine feet are the most sacred ornament
Adorning the highest peak of the venerable Venkata Hill.
സര്വാവയവസൌന്ദര്യസമ്പദാ സര്വചേതസാം
സദാ സമ്മോഹനായാസ്തു വേങ്കടേശായ മങ്ഗലമ് ॥ ൪॥
May there be eternal auspiciousness and glory to Lord Venkatesha, who, by the boundless wealth of beauty of all His divine limbs, forever captivates the minds and hearts of all beings.
നിത്യായ നിരവദ്യായ സത്യാനന്ദചിദാത്മനേ
സര്വാന്തരാത്മനേ ശ്രീമദ്വേങ്കടേശായ മങ്ഗലമ് ॥ ൫॥
May all auspiciousness be unto the glorious Lord Venkatesha,
Who is eternal, flawless, and the embodiment of Truth, Consciousness, and Bliss,
The indwelling Self of all beings.
സ്വതസ്സര്വവിദേ സര്വശക്തയേ സര്വശേഷിണേ
സുലഭായ സുശീലായ വേങ്കടേശായ മങ്ഗലമ് ॥ ൬॥
To Him who is inherently all-knowing, omnipotent, and the ultimate Master of all existence,
To Him who is easily accessible and of the most gracious and noble disposition—may all auspiciousness and glory be unto Lord Venkatesha.
പരസ്മൈ ബ്രഹ്മണേ പൂര്ണകാമായ പരമാത്മനേ
പ്രയുഞ്ജേ പരതത്ത്വായ വേങ്കടേശായ മങ്ഗലമ് ॥ ൭॥

ആകാലതത്ത്വമശ്രാന്തം ആത്മനാമനുപശ്യതാം
അതൃപ്ത്യമൃതരൂപായ വേങ്കടേശായ മങ്ഗലമ് ॥ ൮॥
May all auspiciousness be unto Lord Venkatesha, whose form is the insatiable nectar of immortality to those realized souls who, tirelessly and for all eternity, contemplate and behold Him.
പ്രായസ്സ്വചരണൌ പുംസാം ശരണ്യത്വേന പാണിനാ
കൃപയാഽഽദിശതേ ശ്രീമദ്വേങ്കടേശായ മങ്ഗലമ് ॥ ൯॥
May all auspiciousness be unto the glorious Lord Venkatesha, who, out of supreme compassion, points with His hand toward His own feet, revealing them to humanity as the ultimate refuge.
ദയാമൃത തരങ്ഗിണ്യാസ്തരങ്ഗൈരിവ ശീതലൈഃ
അപാങ്ഗൈഃ സിഞ്ചതേ വിശ്വം വേങ്കടേശായ മങ്ഗലമ് ॥ ൧൦॥
May all auspiciousness be unto Lord Venkatesha, who bathes the entire universe with His cool side-glances, which are like the soothing waves of a river of the nectar of compassion.
സ്രഗ്ഭൂഷാമ്ബരഹേതീനാം സുഷമാവഹമൂര്തയേ
സര്വാര്തിശമനായാസ്തു വേങ്കടേശായ മങ്ഗലമ് ॥ ൧൧॥
May all auspiciousness be unto Lord Venkatesha, the pacifier of all distress and suffering, whose sublimely beautiful form imparts splendor to the very garlands, ornaments, garments, and weapons that adorn Him.
ശ്രീവൈകുണ്ഠവിരക്തായ സ്വാമിപുഷ്കരിണീതടേ
രമയാ രമമാണായ വേങ്കടേശായ മങ്ഗലമ് ॥ ൧൨॥
May all auspiciousness be unto Lord Venkatesha, who, choosing to leave His supreme abode of Sri Vaikuntha, sports in divine bliss with Goddess Lakshmi on the banks of the sacred Swami Pushkarini lake.
ശ്രീമത്സുന്ദരജാമാതൃമുനിമാനസവാസിനേ
സര്വലോകനിവാസായ ശ്രീനിവാസായ മങ്ഗലമ് ॥ ൧൩॥
May all auspiciousness be unto Lord Srinivasa—the supreme abode of Lakshmi, who dwells eternally in the heart of the glorious sage Sundara Jamatri, and who is Himself the ultimate sanctuary of all the worlds.
മങ്ഗലാശാസനപരൈര്മദാചാര്യ പുരോഗമൈഃ
സര്വൈശ്ച പൂര്വൈരാചാര്യൈഃ സത്കൃതായാസ്തു മങ്ഗലമ് ॥ ൧൪॥
May all auspiciousness be unto Her, who is deeply revered by all the ancient spiritual masters, led by my own preceptors, who are eternally dedicated to offering auspicious blessings and singing Her divine glories.
॥ ഇതി വേങ്കടേശമങ്ഗലാശാസനമ് ॥
