माया पञ्चकं

(Maya Panchakam)

Adi Shankaracharya

Maya Panchakam is a profound philosophical composition attributed to Adi Shankaracharya, consisting of five verses that explore the nature of Maya, the cosmic illusion. It addresses the inscrutable power of Maya to manifest duality and delusion even in the enlightened mind. By contemplating these verses, the seeker gains clarity on how this illusory force veils the non-dual reality of the Self. Chanting this stotra is believed to sharpen spiritual intellect, diminish the influence of worldly attachments, and guide the practitioner toward the realization of ultimate truth, thereby liberating the consciousness from the cycle of ignorance.
