(Yati Panchakam (Kaupina Panchakam) in English (IAST))

Adi Shankaracharya

Attributed to the great philosopher Adi Shankaracharya, this stotra celebrates the exalted state of a Sannyasin, one who has renounced worldly attachments. Through five poignant verses, the poet highlights the contentment found in living a life of utter simplicity, relying only on nature and basic necessities. It emphasizes the profound inner joy of one who dwells in the eternal truth of Vedanta. Chanting this composition serves as a powerful reminder of the ephemeral nature of material possessions, encouraging the practitioner to cultivate detachment, inner peace, and a dedicated focus on the ultimate reality of Brahman.
