Goddess Sharada

śāradā prārthana

(Sharada Prarthana in English (IAST))

Traditional

Sharada Prarthana is a sacred devotional hymn dedicated to Goddess Sharada, an incarnation of Saraswati residing in Kashmir. The prayer invokes the Goddess of knowledge, intellect, and speech, beseeching her to bestow the divine gift of learning and cognitive clarity. By chanting these verses, devotees seek to cultivate shraddha (faith), dharana (retention), and medha (intellect). It is believed that regular recitation purifies the speech, enhances academic and spiritual wisdom, and aligns the seeker with the divine virtues of peace and mental focus, ultimately leading to higher consciousness and scholarly excellence.
