କାଶୀ ପଞ୍ଚକଂ

The cessation of the mind is the supreme peace; that is the holiest pilgrimage site, Manikarnika. The flow of pure knowledge is the sacred Ganges. I am that Kashi, which is the very form of self-realization.

In which this manifested world—the moving and the stationary—appears as a magical illusion created by the play of the mind, that which is the absolute reality, pure consciousness, and bliss—I am that Kashi, the form of self-realization.

The intellect that shines within the five sheaths in every body is Bhavani, and the witnessing Self that resides within, which is Shiva and all-pervading—I am that Kashi, the form of self-realization.

Kashi is truly the light of consciousness; it is the source of all illumination. Whoever has realized this Kashi within, has truly attained the ultimate destination.

The body is the sacred field of Kashi, and the all-pervading flow of knowledge is the Ganges. Devotion and faith are Gaya, and meditation on the lotus feet of the Guru is Prayag. The Lord of the Universe (Vishveshwara) is the Turiya (the fourth state of consciousness), the indwelling Self that witnesses the minds of all beings. If everything exists within my own body, what other pilgrimage site could there be?
