Vindhyeshwari Stotram

Salutations to Lord Ganesha. I worship Goddess Vindhyavasini, who is the destroyer of the demons Shumbha and Nishumbha, who severed the head of the fierce demon Munda, and who manifests Her power in the forests and on the battlefield. (1)

I worship Goddess Vindhyavasini, who holds a trident and a severed head, who removes the obstacles and calamities of the earth, and who resides in every home. (2)

I worship Goddess Vindhyavasini, who takes away poverty and sorrow, who grants prosperity to the virtuous, and who removes the grief of separation. (3)

I worship Goddess Vindhyavasini, who has brilliantly rolling beautiful eyes, who bestows boons like a wish-fulfilling creeper (or: who always grants boons to the people), and who holds a skull and a trident. (4)

I worship the auspicious Goddess Vindhyavasini, whose hand joyfully holds a mace (or: whose lotus hands grant charity), who is Shivaa (the auspicious one) and the bestower of auspiciousness (Shiva), and whose face is supremely beautiful. (5)

I worship Goddess Vindhyavasini, who grants the prayers of the foremost among sages (or: grants the prayers of the king of monkeys), who takes on three different forms, and who dwells in the water and on the land. (6)

I worship Goddess Vindhyavasini, who is the creator of this distinct and marvelous universe, who assumes a vast and cosmic form, and whose great womb expands to hold the entire creation. (7)

I worship Goddess Vindhyavasini, who is served by Indra (Purandara) and other gods, who destroyed the lineage of demons like Mura (or: destroyed the lineage of the enemies of gods), and who bestows pure intellect. (8)
